    Spend 3 hours fighting with game and computer crashes erasing all the work on a new house, now the game refuses to do a stairwell through the foundation to the basement. AARGH!

      I felt the same way in Bridgeport. 2 hours of work on houses and sims appearencec gone in second. Wanted to crush computer.

      I just follow the stair guide on Carl's site that has you delete all the interior foundation. It's a pain if you've already placed objects, though. You have to move them to erase foundation, then put them back.

      The ctrl click method works (most of the time) as long as the ground is level. I ended up being able to do it once I reloaded the last save. Game just glitched (as is normal it seems).
