Flat tire today; naturally husband's in Dallas. So proud of myself when I managed to get the baby tire loose and on the car. Then I couldn't lift the full-size tire into the SUV. So embarrassing. I need ice cream!

When Wolfie and I were dating she had a flat and called me, and when I got there I saw her problem, she had 2 flats, she had fixed one and the other went down while she was fixing the first. She was not happy but I took the tires to the garage and fixed them. I thought she was helpless and was a bit disappointed. Love a woman that can change a tire. Jennifer those tires are very heavy, Wolf has trouble putting the truck tires in the truck bed, and she is buff lol.

If the nice man who lifted the tire into my SUV had come by earlier, I'd have loved for him to change my flat. (I have a lot of endurance, Kivak, but not a lot of strength). But as it was, I changed the tire and only lacked putting it in the truck. I was so close to finishing what I started. I felt as if I faltered yards from the finish line and it aggravated me. But the ice cream made it all better. I ate both pints Cohzaku and never went near the gym. : )

You deserved it! Those tires are heavy. I hate getting flats.

Typically I work part time (and sporadically) from home but had to work in an out-of-town office the past week (pantyhose, heels, the whole ball of wax). Great to be back home!

No matter how hot it gets, please line up and kick my butt if I have my hair cut short again this spring. Don't know what got into me last year (OK, ye of dirty minds, I know THAT got into me).

Lol Nell.
-
Nell, is it polka-dotted?
-
Nell, I could still turn heads with swimsuits I once wore -- but for different reasons now. In my mind I'm sometimes a 16-year-old slut; in body I'm always a 45-year-old mother of two! I do prefer where I'm at now, though :)

Wouldn't you know it? I get the home gel manicure set for Christmas and I've just heard that it increases the odds of my having skin cancer by about a trillion times (plus or minus 2). Guess I'll have to live with broken, unsightly nails.

Only if it has a UV light. Most at home kits come with LED lights, so you're in the clear there.
-
Thanks for that clarification, Nyxie. I should have listened more closely to the story on TV, which didn't specifically mention home kits. Glad I didn't get rid of it (although to be honest it takes more time than I generally want to spend on my nails).
-
Yeah my nails are thin and they break a lot. I've tried a ton of stuff for them but I'm cheap and lazy so.lol

I'm back -- kind of, anyway -- and I have a feeling I'm going to spend the next month catching up on all I've missed.

glad you back.
-
Yay! Welcome back!! *hug*
-
Thanks all. Good to be back.
-
I've missed you all but will likely be away for at least another couple of weeks. Save your best stuff for then so I don't have to read a month's full of posts. :)

I'm so excited about the Super Bowl I can hardy be still. Oh wait! That's my husband. I can't even keep up with who's playing. :)
-
When my mom was alive (she died in August)she was a rabid football fanatic and watched all of the football games and especially the Superbowl. I listened to it from the other room, but I never understood it. Since she died, I never bothered with it, so I don't even know who's playing today.
-
I can't watch it until Shake gets back from military training. last 13 years we have watched it together so I wait :(

29 this morning - down from 80 earlier in the week. Ever see one of those Eskimo girl dolls wrapped in a parka from head to toe? That was me doing my five miles today.
-
After an 8-month hiatus, I'm officially a working girl again. Even though I work at home and set my own hours (kind of), I'm ready for another vacation. Call me lazy and shiftless I guess!
-
Took the summer off to spend time with the kids and took an extended break. Love being a lady of leisure. Hate being the Princess of Poverty, tho, so back to work on Monday. Ugh
-
Family's on the mend and back at work and school. Now I can work on getting me better. Going to start by sleeping the rest of the day!
-
Neither of my boys will ever offend their future wives by bragging about mama's cooking. They'd always rather eat junk than the meals I prepare.
-
I haven't been myself lately. I'll be glad when this "other woman" goes away and I can be me again.
-
Back from my spontaneous mini-vacation. Among the highlights was a concert by my favorite classical guitarist and then getting to meet her. Had a great time but good to be home. I missed the kids!
-
A typical (spelled atypical) morning. Parents show up to keep the kids. Husband says we’ll be back Sunday; proclaims it a “no-bra trip;†and promises to buy me an appropriate dress when we get there (wherever “there†is). So am I stunned? Clueless? Intrigued? Excited? How ‘bout all of the above.

Top oven quit working. Hubby asked: "How would you know? Did you need to quick dry your pantyhose?" Ha ha ha. I don't wear them that often and any idiot knows you dry them in the microwave :)

Lol! Wait. .salesmen? That's a new one on me.
-
LOL
I seldom use my top oven the other day I thought I would bake some bread. I almost didn't look before i preheated and some things of Akeems were in there. they almost got baked not dried.
-
Salesmen I thought they were dog food. I didn't know you had to bake them first.
-
It's going to be a long weekend around here if the Texas Longhorns lose again. Hubby's not a fan; he's a fanatic!
-
Having trouble distinguishing fall from summer. 90 degrees (32.2 C) yesterday. A new record.
-
Volunteered at my daughter's school today. I love the kids, but don't think I would last a month as a teacher!
-
I know that I would not. I love my kids.other people's kids.not so much.
-
I have no patience for teaching, I give props to those who can teach and do. :)
-
Wolfie is a good teacher to our children and those in our family but she tried to tutor anothers child once and she said never again.
She actually could teach but doesn't want to!

I'm back from the wilds, not a whole lot worse for all the wear and tear on my body. Summary of my outing with all those hunks in my "I'll be stranded 8 days. ." thread.

Breaking in a new pair of hiking boots. Did four-and-a-half miles this morning; will get hubby to do a couple more with me when he gets in from work.

I am jealous of your new hiking boots. Mine are starting to fall apart. :D

Awesome!

1st time in 18 months I've been able to plan awesome outdoor activities. In the next 5 months I'll spend 21 days in the backcountry sleeping in a 2-person tent (unfortunately most of those days I'll be the only person in it!).
-
Had my one-year post-op checkup today. Dr. says I'm as good as I ever was. Not sure if that's good or bad!!!

Thanks everyone. I have a pretty positive attitude. I wasn't really worried about the tests or the exam.
-
Wish you the very best of health. *hug*
-
Stay the way you are, and that'll be good enough for us. Jen! *hug*

I need for there to be 52 birthdays tomorrow so I can wish them all Happy Birthday and finally get to 500 posts!

Decided to surprise hubby and mow the yard before he got home. It was 106. For an hour or so at least this girl was "one hot chick!"
