  1. Understandable! It's just that we're excited! Too excited obviously. I still use some of your mods that work up to the latest patch they released Tuesday. I'd love to see what you have done with WSC because honestly, that mod surpassed most of the mods that came out after. Better control and better spawning. I know lunchtime was chaotic. I stopped sending my students to the high school because there are certain things that made no sense. We all went to high school right? I don't see students lurking around the lockers, getting into fights, being sent to detention (where IS the detention room by the way?) and staying after school to join some clubs. I went to two high schools where I DON'T recall seeing locker rooms, exercise room and computer room be in the basement. No gym either. Anyways, I'm looking forward to what new direction some of your mods (the ones you plan to work on) are heading into. Cheers!

  2. Late to the scene, but I share my feelings with everyone else over this aspect of the game - neighborhood friends asking if they should do this or not. Not too recent, I had a couple in one game save who didn't have jobs. One is a University student, and the other is supposed to be a homemaker. My Uni Sim went somewhere off the lot when I got a message from my Homemaker Sim asking if she should get a job or not as a Salary worker (Snowy Escape job). Why would my Homemaker Sim, from her home, ask my Uni Sim, who's away from home, ask that kind of question?

If there is a mod out there to actually turn it off, please point me that way. I was hoping Twisted Mexican has a toggle mod for that, but he hasn't.

  3. Will solar panels (ground and roof) be considered in the future to be added here? I would love to have the roof version of the wind turbine tweaked too unless that custom turbine can go up onto a roof. I tried solar panels, but the inspector gave a bad rating no matter if the roof itself is one giant solar panel or not. I had 2 roof solar panels and 1 turbine up there on top of the solar roof, but still, the inspector gave a bad rating.

I think I will pluck those mods and plop them into my special "Coolspear Is Awesome" folder to try them out!

Thank you for your hard work on these objects.

  4. I took a look into these mods to see if they needed updating.

Good news. These mods do not need updating and are safe to use with the latest game version: 1.65.x

Read the description in the first post carefully about what these things do. Install only one version into the Overrides folder you make in the Mods folder:

    Windows 10 or similar:

    C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\Overrides

  5. Updated for Game version: 1.63.136.1010

The zip contains the mods from the original post on the first page of this thread. You will notice that the mods have -Test. These are the ones I'm testing after I updated them. I am not 100% sure if the buffs work. Please comment here if they work or break, and if they break, describe what you saw in game.

Also, they do conflict with LittleMsSam's toddler tweaks. Keep that in mind. :)

  6. Another brilliant idea is to download Sims 4 Studio from a reputable source. Here are the following steps:

    1. Download Sims 4 Studio.

    2. Open the program.

    3. Click on any mod you want to open with Sims 4 Studio.

    4. Make changes.

    5. Save.

    Voila!

I'm not sorry if I have to say something. People coming here to ask questions whether these wonderful mods are updated/working need to know 2 things:

    1. Retired modders will NOT update their mods. Why? Because they are officially done spending hours of tears and blood to create and maintain many, many mods for other people's enjoyment.

    2. Patches will always break mods in some way. We all accepted this as the norm for EA/Maxis having this odd habit breaking sh*t over and over.

If any of you want to use these mods from Coolspear, you update them yourself for your use. Have some respect for our retired creators. I set my foot down long ago that I was done with modding. I see people out there using some version of my old mods for Sims 2, 3 and 4. I'm happy for them wanting to continue using the things I made for them.

In short, please give our longtime resident/retired creator the chance to enjoy his golden years. And get him a nice, cold beer to enjoy.

  7. @coolspear, because I tried to bring up the menu on the cauldron (both cheap and expensive) to cook something, but all I saw food-related was Cook Mac&Cheese. LittleMsSam's Herbalism Potions showed up just fine and the RoM potions menu showed up fine. I am wondering if the Sim needs the Cooking skill to be able to cook food from the cauldron? This is the last resort to check.

  8. My dad probably would make friends with your grandfather if they met. Mine served in the U.S. Army during both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Putting a price on those medals might have felt wrong, but if they were to be used for a museum, I'd use that logic too.

I like this mod so I will grab it for my military Sims. A museum lot would be great if we had a better one. Your work on most of those commercial lots is awesome, more awesome than Maxis' shoddy work on their lots.

  9. I wished they created unique traits for Vampires in the same vein as they did for Spellcasters. Imagine my Vampire sim being a newbie kicking Vlad's ass in the street. I wanted Ancient Vampire sims to be truly powerful enough to kick anybody's asses and do what they please as Vampires, you know. spotting a juicy victim for a deep drink or stalking someone's house. But no, there weren't any traits like that.

It's bad enough Maxis decided that Spellcasters can't be Vampires or vice versa, but it would be nice if they duel each other like immortal enemies that they are.

  10. @coolspear, a bit of update info on the stunning lot:

When I placed this gorgeous lot in Glimmerbrook, I was informed of 10 Build Mode items being removed from the lot. So, I went through each screenshot and inspected the different aspects of this lot, I counted 8 missing white planter boxes and 2 odd items. The odd items are, I THINK, fish in the three windows of the shower room on the very very bottom.

I placed the planter boxes where they should be as seen in some of the pictures of the outside. But I could not figure out what kind of fish they were in the three windows. I do have all of the precise fishing mods installed.

I don't know how to place fish or what they are. I'm not into fishing IRL. So, there's that.

I don't mind the missing fish as that would be the least of my concerns. You worked hard on building this stunning lot to be bothered with figuring out why the fish disappeared from the windows of that shower room.

What plants were grown in the 8 planter boxes starting from the left side to the right by the street and the two beneath the left and right windows at the corners of the building?

  11. I have a Spellcaster with the Weak Bloodline trait. She was bugged in the same way when she reached Virtuoso and got down ranked somehow. I don't think the problem is with the traits. I think the problem is with the Spellcaster occult itself. I even encountered a bug where she couldn't open the spellbook or the perks window.

This bug only seemed to happen if we give our Spellcasters the traits through some type of cheat whether it is a command through command line or through the Traits/Potions window with traits available that normally aren't available.
