When I was a baby my parents would stick pink bows or ribbons on my head. I was too young to be offended then if someone mistook me for a boy. Not much chance of that now with my head of hair : )

I keep my hair short because of the heat (100 plus every summer.) More than once people have referred to me as "sir" when I'm female.

People are just dumb, there's no other reason for it.
