    Who would have thought that a deceased person's taxes need to be kept the same as a living persons? I am trying to reduce the amount of boxes around the house since I may be moving into a much smaller apartment, but apparently I need to keep 7 years of my mom's taxes (she died in 2012).

      Apparently. I have to keep hers and mine for 7 years. She never had any trouble with the IRS when she was alive, and I never have either. I just hope they don't try to come after either of us now.
