  1. Aye, it really is the worst to have it mandatory. I mean for god's sake, if a person is a low key player to begin with, small houses, small families, it is not needed at all. And if a person is the complete opposite, stuffed mansion houses everywhere and overstuffed families, then surely they would want to know if that bloated save file has become corrupted, which you can never know with Memory Boost perma-hiding it. Not fixing it, not preventing it, just fucking hiding it. Bury head in sand and burn out GPU.

    Worst logic ever.

Still not seeing any mods to reinstate the option switches. Maybe it's just not doable. If not then I'll never be patching again.

But the big question for you now is, how long, on average, do you spend playing the sims per session? If only two, three hours a day, then that won't be much of a hit on your GPU. But if you can spend ten, twelve hours per session, four, five times a week, then start putting spare cash to one side, you'll be needing a replacement GPU before too long.

  2. Yep, I'm also stuck on 1.25. Even with all the free stuff coming announced yesterday, (Forget about the evil buyout, just look at all the free goodies incoming! Yipee!!!) I'm still not likely to patch. S4S also updated yesterday, but I'm still unlikely to patch. Yes, indeed, the evil buyout and joining the EA boycott does play heavy on my mind, but more than that the immediate hardware danger of perma-Memory Boost is securing I keep away probably forever now.

I don't know what else to add to that regarding the future. Human murdering evil Saudi royals + Hardware murdering evil Memory Boost = Stay the heck away. That's the only future I can see for now. If you spot a new mod out there that directly turns off Memory Boost permanently, before I spot it, then please let me know. Other than that, I'm done with TS4 patching I guess.

  3. Cheers @boldenbeau But that just ruined my last hope. The sanctuary of DX 9 now also infected. It's not that I can't run DX 11, it's just TS4, and CC, is not improved much with it. Some things, including Maxis made stuff, currently made worse by it.

But Memory Boost itself is a half-arsed blight, posing as a fix, brought into the game by those not knowledgeable enough to tamper with such thigs. I will always trust Microsoft more than I ever would Maxis, and when Microsoft told me directly my last GPU died due to overclocking, a 3060 that Maxis and TS4 had no business prematurely killing, but through hardware incompetence did, then I certainly don't want Memory Boost active ever again.

That's it then, I'm certainly not patching for that crap.

And ever remains the truth that a Corrupted Save file is still a Corrupted save file, no matter how much Memory Boost overclocks your GPU to hide the corruption. How long before that can no longer cover the corruption the more a player keeps adding to a corrupted save file? (Providing their GPU doesn't give out first.) I feel that hereafter Maxis will no longer be talking about or attempting to work on Save File corruption. Memory Boost is their answer and that's all we'll ever get. Their own software incompetence they'll never get to the bottom of, and turning to hardware incompetence to sweep it under the carpet.

  4. For them to make Memory Boost a fixed feature, they would also have to make DX 11 a fixed feature and remove options for DX 9 as Memory Boost cannot run on DX 9. (Thank god!!!) That will make the game unplayable for many. Not everyone complains/reports Save File corruption. If they play small, nuclear families, living in shotgun bungalow starter homes town after town after town, with base game and only two or three EPs, they've probably never suffered Save File Corruptions and have absolutely no need to push their hardware to the limit (over the limit) with Memory Boost. Eaxis already made the 32bit Legacy edition of TS4 way back at the time of University EP. To make Memory Boost a fixed feature, they would have to make a second Legacy edition for those who simply cannot (or refuse to) run it.

DX 9 is still more stable than DX 11 for TS4, and Eaxis know this. What's a good analogy, in computer years, like dog years, TS4 is a pensioner of a game. It may seem all well and good to give the pensioner a new, turbo charged mobility scooter for modern computing, but don't make much sense when the turbo charged scooter rockets to the shopping mall ahead of time, but the poor old pensioner fell off miles back! If DX 9 stays, - as it has to for all us pensioners - then turbo charged scooter Memory Boost has no option but to remain optional. And thus we all make it to the Mall in our own time for a good day's shopping - And Eaxis do love keeping us shopping - and no burnt out, overclocked mobility scooter to show for it.

Edit - Well, there's a turn out. I went to read some of the Q&A stuff regarding upcoming patch, and they do say that Memory Boost will no longer be optional. It will be a fixed, non optional feature for everyone. Reading further through it, they also say that it will no longer be DX 11 specific. Though they do not say whether that means they'll be scrapping DX 9 availability completely, or making Mem Boost compatible with DX 9.

I don't like the idea of any of it. I do not trust Maxis as great hardware tech people, seeing they're not much cop at software developing, blundering though it month by months for twelve years. I don't want them tampering with any of my hardware in their half-arsed way. Them bozos unleashing this Memory Boost as mandatory GPU enslavement function is an absolute no, no. This may very well be the end of patching the game for me.

  5. @AussieMummy Hey there, long time no see. Glad you dropped in. Yeah, I really have been slacking in my modding "duties" for most of this year. The hope last January that Maxis would quit patching "soon" came to nothing. But they did mention a short while after Royals EP released at start of year that they intend to fix some of the Family Tree issues in the September patch. That's what broke my heart and my hope a little, because that was January and September feels like a whole frikken year away at start of year. But now only a couple of months left. I'm still holding on to the sneaking suspicion since they said that, that September will actually be the final wrap up for patching TS4. It just seemed odd to highlight a far away September patch in January. It seemed to me after hearing them say such a thing, means that is their hidden, shut off, close down deadline to finally sunset TS4. I dunno, it just feels like that... Hopefully.

And if so, then yep, I'll be glad to get back to cleaning up mods for one last big hurrah. But I just can't face doing that till they finally bugger off and the coast is clear.

  6. I have not checked for compatibility with latest patch. (As I've said many times over the years, Maxis hardly ever touch the files this mod uses, and on the blue moons they do, it's been utterly insignificant.) But I have played quite a bit recently and find there is nothing wrong with these mods.

Typically, games failing to load beyond loading screen are due to outdated scripting mods and, the last few months especially, broken Cas and build mode CC. Maxis do be fucking with that a lot in recent months. (Marketplace, methinks.)

Or, good old save file corruption doing its party favorite trick of infinite loading screen. And you get that with or without mods and never due to mods. All you gotta do is patch and, whoops, there it is.

Why, it was only the patch before last, seventy percent of players couldn't load the game if they used mods, until the following hot fix correction. We love Maxis really, don't we.

  7. I haven't patched for a few months now. Since this mod is primarily just an extreme push on the interaction to turn off Social Bunny, making it autonomous - where it otherwise was not - and then making it utterly irresistible for sims to do, it could be these last couple of months with Maxis concentrating on autonomous factors and mechanics in game for the last two big patches, they may have knocked it sideways. I'll need to patch and check latest version of interaction xml to see.

I'm actually gearing up to patch today. Though the outcome of that could have a major impact on my foreseeable future for modding this game. As written in another post recently. If after patch my current healthy save file is once again corrupted, as has been the case for my last five save files these last two years, then I will be throwing the towel in regarding modding until Maxis are gone and have quit patching the game. I simply cannot start a sixth (actually I think that would be a seventh?) new save file. It's utter madness. Nor can I continue playing a corrupt save file. That's madness, too.

My gameplay for close to two years now, has consisted of me playing "immigration officer." Trying to rescue refugee sims from an old corrupted save, moving them to a clean, new save. And since new save files number three, four and five, I am just not keeping up. Maxis patches are killing my latest save files before I get all sim refugees across. I am utterly fed up of this. My sims are scattered throughout so many corrupt save files now, I'm close to losing the plot. And after patching today this immigration officer play style ends one way or another. Either the patch does not corrupt my game, then I can finally add the last few sims and get back to playing normally which I haven't done in two years. Or it does again corrupt, that being the most likely outcome if the last two years and five save files are any kind of record, and I simply shut down for the winter season, and reopen in some far away summer season where Maxis no longer pollute the beaches. "Winter is coming..." I understand Maxis will continue patching the game till September this year, and perhaps even beyond that time frame.

I'll know one way or another by this evening or tomorrow. Beach towel, for throw in, on standby.

  8. I haven't been patching for a while. I'm currently testing a theory that the Game File Corruption comes in the frikken patches. I have had four of my Game Files corrupted over the past 18 months or thereabouts. And every time directly after a patch. The first time I ever had Game File corruption was with the patch that forces the remake of five houses in Willow Creek and Oasis Springs. The Goth house, Landgraab house, Spencer Kim Lewis house, and a couple of others. That patch totally messed up my save. In that save my main sim was becoming the global landlord with the residential rentals. It was going fine till that patch. Anyway, since then I have been forced to make brand new world saves four times, and every time after a fucking patch kills it. Every time it's Willow Creek and Oasis Springs that are hit the worst for many, many players. Anyone see the connection there?

So for the last two months I have made a fifth new save file. My main sim is back on the trail of being a global landlord. And since not patching, it is going extremely well. But it started life as a test file. Though has grown more and more as an enjoyable game to play. So I'm kinda dreading patching again.

However, the upcoming patch (May 12) I do intent to install. Though not immediately. I always give it a week or so, to see what social media is reporting about the patch, to also wait for S4S to be updated for the patch. I'll also be trying a few tricks with this current save file to see if I can help avoid it getting corrupted. Such as it will not be in my game folders when I do patch. An old corrupted file will be there ready for Maxis to mercilessly attack. Then after patch I will start yet another new save file. Play it for five minutes. Then, clear all of that out and put my true save file in. If Maxis and their refreshed houses (That are in every patch, and hit your game every time you do patch) still manage to corrupt the save file, make a bollocks of Willow Creek and Oasis Springs for a fifth time, kill my sim's landlord empire yet again, than I don't know what the future holds. Something along the lines of just not playing the game again until Maxis and their patches finally fuck off - if ever.

    Paralives to the rescue, maybe?

  9. From my understanding, if you have the game set to run with DX 11 then it will auto assign game to run with Memory Boost On, or on Auto. (Half on.) You have to manually turn it fully off permanently yourself.

And if you have loads of Cas CC that you really enjoy, then it's best to play on DX 9 anyway. As DX 11 can and does turn Cas CC (and some Maxis stuff) into golden-glow Dune Sci-Fi body shields occasionally. Flakey and temporary, (no need to delete the CC just for this) depends on which order the specular files for the CC (and some Maxis stuff) gets loaded under DX 11. Doesn't happen under DX 9. Evolution, eh?

If the random load order is wrong, then zing, your sim is shielded and ready to go off and have a Holy War with the rest of the galaxy. If right, then no golden shield and best to stay home and cook spaghetti. DX 9 ends Holy Wars before they start!

  10. Yeah, that thumbnail cache deletion thing is, in my mind, borderline superstition. Others swear by it, - Mostly Maxis over at their EA Help site - but I know it could only effect one or two types of unique scenarios mod users rarely get themselves into, but to suggest it every time is selling snake oil. Next thing you know, I'll be telling you to touch wood and spin round in a mirror three times. Same odds. And if you did get yourself into that rare type of mod mess, it's far better to delete and regenerate the whole Sims 4 folder. (I've certainly been there once or twice over the years.)  But anyway, moving on.

Uni scenarios are something I haven't played in an age. I wouldn't know if they are as buggy as Dine Out scenarios. (Which I did try recently tweaking my old restaurant mods and, yes, still as crap and broken as ever.)

So much governed by roommate behaviors and all the unique pushes they constantly get to do their array of highly annoying bullshit. I dunno. I modded the heck out of all that, so roommates and uni housing are a very different animal in my game. Though I never did get round to releasing those mods.

Are you seeing the same Sim Lag in normal, residential life scenarios?

  11. Hi @PeachyWtch

At this late twelve year stage, with all the lovely bugs and spaghetti coding Maxis have given us, it's getting harder to define what is the age old, typical, Simulation Lag Maxis first bestowed, compared to some newer form of game-crippling, memory-mangling malarkey.

Where you say none of the versions you tried seem to do anything, I'd like to ask is it during a specific venue scenario where sims are intolerably lollygagging, - and relatively okay in other scenarios? Or are they doing very little and always slow and delayed to get busy doing anything in pretty much all scenarios and all venues?

The other simulation lag mod you removed will most definitely conflict with this mod, but - (and here's something I very rarely suggest, if ever, but "needs must," right?) did you delete the localthumbcache file after removing that mod? You never know...

  12. It is likely due to the Sulani Festivals that frequently occur. This mod does not alter those scheduled festival events in any regions. Different mods are required to stop sims being summoned to festivals and to remove them from the calendar - whether they are visibly scheduled festival events in the calendar that spam regular notifications, or the hidden ones that give no notifications, such as the 3 or 4 Sulani types.

  13. I haven't actually checked the files as yet, but I have been playing the game quite a bit since patching and I see nothing different regarding the way this mod governs sim autonomy. Same old, same old. If Maxis did change anything this March, (Only ever in March with these files.) it's as insignificant as the utterly minor changes they've made in these files for the last three March patches going back to 2023.

  14. Looks like I'm back on track, also much improved. 5060 installed and so far so very good. After reinstalling Windows the other day, there was nothing on my PC for the 5060 to run. But spent yesterday and today installing a few games, and TS4 looks better than it ever did. I didn't think the 3060 - before EA broke it - could visually improve Sims 4 any more. It was top notch with Nvidia settings - Not Maxis settings. But the 5060, wow, it just is noticeably visually better. And I haven't even tried all the funky new AI improvements the 50 range offers. I'm sure I'll play about with that later after I install a few more of my fav games.

And that's on DX9 for Sims 4 (As DX11 still can't get the specular glow right on many CC and Maxis Cas clothing and randomly makes sims have an annoying temporary gold glow from head to toe, like they are in a Dune sci-fi movie and activate their body shields, for crying out loud.) And definitely, absolutely no frikken kiss-of-death Memory Boost. Never again!

But anyway, I'll be back to modding TS4 shortly, given this fresh install of it forced the latest patch on me. I didn't actually want that yucky, greedy Marketplace patch just yet, but too late. And, of course, S4S did get an update the other day. So yeah, mod checking/updating resuming soon.

  15. In the seven or eight weeks I was running Memory Boost, it has damaged my old MSI 3060 GPU permanently. The Bug Check errors and forced system reboots became more frequent these last few weeks, even when not playing any games. I did everything I could to eliminate if it was a software problem, faulty drivers are often seen as the cause of Bug Check errors. But no. Definitely a hardware issue. I went as far as to reinstall Windows for a completely fresh start, and no sooner did I install the Nvidia driver, within ten minutes another system Bug Check and forced reboot. I used the software that completely removes Nvidia drivers so I could keep getting older and older drivers to see if there was a rollback sweet spot. But it's the hardware that keeps randomly failing. Sometimes a good few hours after booting system, playing games, sometimes three times in a row minutes after booting up pc first time in the day. Hardware knackered. The 3060 was close to three years old, originally bought brand new, plenty of life should be left in it, but Memory Boost has broken it to now be a random cut-out mess.

That's the reason I haven't been here much these last few weeks. Currently have a GPU from the Stone Age in my rig, that I don't dare play any games on. At least it doesn't keep cutting out. So just streaming movies and tv stuff. I don't know how much more of that I can take. Most modern movies are so shite. But I'm getting my money's worth out of those streaming subscriptions now.

Anyway, hopefully I should be back on course soon, as I'm expecting a shiny, new RTX 5060 tomorrow, after spending a day shopping around the internet. From 3060 to 5060, that's quite a big jump. I don't have any games that need such a powerful GPU, (yet, Anno Rome, I got my eye on you!) but the price for it was too good to ignore, practically the same price - only a touch more expensive - than what I paid for the 3060 three years ago!

So, what chances do you reckon I have getting compensation from EA for my broken 3060? Use Memory Boost at your own risk, folks. Even with a 5060 I'd never use Memory Boost again. Simmer Erin, don't make me post on your latest Youtube vid about Memory Boost, - now going out to Console players, - as I will rant and rant and rant.

Aren't most current Consoles running on a GPU equivalent to a 3060 Ti? Good luck with that if running Memory Boost?

  16. The size and contents of a lot do not impact Simulation flow too directly. To some small degree, yes, especially if the placed objects have an animation attached to them that needs to loop. Such as curtains or trees swaying in the breeze, as their looping animations go into the same turn-based queue as a Sim's interaction/animations and the more of them there are, the longer the wait for everyone and everything is in the queue. But if lag is still striking heavily on lot devoid of sims, then that would be mostly due to CPU processing and GPU rendering, not Simulation. (Unless you do have a literal million curtains and trees. Yikes!!!)

The lot in your pics does not seem to be overburdened with animation-inducing objects, but I would need to know the average amount of sims who attend at full capacity. The more of them attending and the availability of objects for them to use would definitely impact Simulation. This you can already guess, that if 30 sims all wanting, attempting, to use 30 available objects is going to be a mad rush hitting the Simulation queue. Eventually the sims requests to use things would stagger and be less a continuous mass effect burden on the Simulation queue. But when lot is freshly loaded, expect a bit of mass request hell initially. But there is also a new-ish form of lag, not Simulation related, that was introduced to the game around last June, when Maxis announced they've played with the core memory so all lots should load about 10% faster. To what end? If a game loads from an SSD and bigger lots took 2/3 minutes to load on average, players are not going to truly notice 10% faster. Blink and you miss it. If loading from a normal hard drive on a middling laptop and small lots take 8 minutes, (these players don't dare have large lots in their games!) well seven and a half minutes is still too frikken long so go get an SSD ffs! They're not that expensive these days. Maxis solved nothing, but in the process of reallocating memory, they made it so having 30 sims on a lot now causes very noticeable lag, especially when trying to move the camera around after lot loading.

So, depending on how many sims on a lot, these are the types of lag you may encounter in 2026 patched up to date, even on a top end gaming rig made by alien tech wizards. Not all necessarily Simulation lag. But I hope you're all enjoying that 10% faster loading.

With Maxis, that old addage "be careful what you wish for," really does apply. We want faster lot loading! Done. But now fewer sims per lot. We're sick of save file corruption! Fixed. But Memory Boost will Overclock your GPU to a premature demise. We want a better Maxis! Still waiting. Some wishes are impossible to grant.

  17. I understand, and I would very much like to get on with tidying up all mods and mod threads. I'm waiting for Maxis to release a proper account or road map or whatever of what patching work for Sims 4 still remains.

I am aware that a few weeks back, players were reporting that the Family Tree UI mechanics are still a bit wonky, and Maxis replied by saying they will probably have a fix for that due in the next big September patch. My heart sank at this news, because "still frikken patching till September 2026? FFS!"

Though I don't fully know what that means. Are they still going to be doing regular monthly patches till then? Was this big patch the other day the penultimate patch, then nothing more till next September which will be the ultimate, final big patch for TS4? Either way, September was mentioned, so whether there will be more monthly patches till then or nothing till then, - how does the sad song go - "so it might as well rain until September"

I desperately need to start a new save game, as once again, for the fourth time in 12 months, the Adventure Awaits patch corrupted my current save file. Every time I've patched, the save file was corrupted immediately when loading game after patch. Four times in a row, every fucking time. I cannot do it any more. Patching, and hoping my game will be fine thereafter. Lunacy, it never is, always corrupted. It's in the fucking patches. Since Adventure Awaits patch I've cruised along playing with the Memory Boost feature active to smooth over/hide the corruption. But with it switched off, the corruption is evident. That's not a fix, just a distraction from the corruption. Not only that, but Microsoft error reports have confirmed the Memory Boost feature is Overclocking graphics cards and is bad for the hardware, so I will not use the feature again.

What? Microsoft are wrong and Maxis are right? When have Maxis ever been right? Not content in breaking this game in twelve years of sloppiness, now they want to break our computers, too.

This puts me between a rock and a hard place. Do I start yet another new save game? Not with Maxis still patching the game I will not? Do I continue trying to play with my current corrupted save file? Not with GPU-killing Memory Boost active I won't. Which means loading missing lots, empty fields instead of houses, error code 800s, or good, old, faithful infinite lot load loading screen. Do you know, after Adventure Awaits patch, I saw for the first time Infinite lot lading screen on the way out of a lot back to town view. Wow! Maxis really did a number on this game. I'm sorry, but you would have to be a brain dead idiot, to enter into anything new with them like Sims 5. (Star Wars - They fly now?! They fly now!) Maxis - They're breaking computers now?! They're breaking computers now!

But anyway, all this current confusion is definitely having an impact on what and when I can mod. I have currently switched Memory Boost back on as I need to save all houses and sims to Library (yet again) and must avoid corruption errors while trying to do that. Once all sims and lots have been collected to Library, I will switch off Memory Boost forevermore, never risking the health of my GPU with it again. That's not just a guess, that's a Microsoft hardware bug report telling you.

But then what? Wait till next September before playing TS4 again, finally free of Maxis patches and their built-in corruption? Since Maxis forced those fucking refreshed houses into the patch two years ago, the Goth house and four or five others, and every time you patch it's checking your game for them, EVERY FUCKING PATCH, and save file corruption ever since, with Willow Creek and Oasis Springs always being the worst effected neighborhoods, no coincidence that's where those pox-ridden refreshed houses go. I can't do it any more, I cannot trust patches on new save files. Patches need to end before I can think clearly about modding or even playing this game.

  18. I recommend you stick with version Time Slice 4 (TS4), primarily as that is the version I always use so can give a better opinion based on experience. I also recommend you certainly use Turbodriver's Unclogger with my mod - as I do - as they both do different things regarding simulation processes and work in harmony. For instance, the acting career slowdowns you mention could be due to specific acting interaction hiccup that this mod does nothing to remedy but Unclogger might. Also the homework issues. There are certain interaction instances that do stifle the simulation process and that is exactly what Unclogger is designed to deal with. Whereas this mod set just pushes the delay rate between all interactions and time for sims to stand idle awaiting their turn in simulation queue to get on with it quicker.

Both mods grant best of both worlds.

The other time factor you mention is to do with MCCC mod and how you can make the world time go slower (or faster!) than default Maxis 1 Sim minute = 1 Real World second. I mention that in the description as this set of mods work fine with that MCCC modded function of the game, whereas other popular Simulation Lag mods do not. As I myself play world time speed three times slower than Maxis default. 1 Sim Minute = 3 Real World Seconds. That's my preferred Goldilocks zone.

  19. Hi @Tazmanyak

This is one of those mod sets that I do want to take a look at when Maxis stop patching the game. The description text does need altering, for a few years now, since Maxis changed the way storage is a few years back. Where these storage mods once were truly capable of holding everything a sim can in a Sim's inventory, that unfortunately has not been true for a few years now due to whatever the heck Maxis did. I never could get them to do the same trick after that fateful patch.

Back then I had to opt for the next best storage type, that being the University Storage boxes. They hold a great deal of things, but not quite the same as a Sim's inventory that holds everything.

I haven't tried to store Skis and Snowboards for an age, so not quite sure if these modded boxes can hold them as is. If not it would not be a fault of the storage mod itself, just that Maxis has not allowed the skis and snowboards for the uni storage type. To remedy that I would have to get the skis and snowboard object xmls and add that type of storage to the list of places they can be stored. Not a big job, but the type of modding I'm waiting for Maxis to finally quit patching before I do. Simply because it involves modding more and more xmls, that Maxis love to break in patches, so I'm waiting for them to go away before I start modding on that level again.

Might not be long now though, eh?

  20. Since the Memory Boost feature was implemented a couple of months ago, and in a somewhat "in testing" "unofficial" capacity (EA covering their ass.) try as I might I could not find anywhere a statement issued by EA or Maxis just what the feature is technically doing to PC hardware. Just general blurb that it's to help with game file corruption.

So like most folks I just tried it. And yep, it does indeed "help" with the corruption where all neighborhoods only show Maxis original buildings, not any buildings the player has put in the world. Memory Boost makes the game show player placed buildings. Yay! (Like, shouldn't the game just be doing that anyway ffs?)

But you may have noticed an uptick in GPU activity. Namely the cooling fan working harder to cool the graphics card. Well how bad could that be, you might ask?

Well, actually, enough to cause the graphics card to slow down it's processing, forcing Microsoft systems to occasionally reboot the PC due to an internal  BugCheck mechanism.

Going into Microsoft Event Viewer and getting the actual report number of the bug type, then going to Microsoft Online Help to get the laymens terms breakdown of that bug number, it will tell you unequivocally that your GPU is being Overclocked and you need to rectify this or risk damaging the GPU beyond fixing. Basically burning it out prematurely just as Overclocking is guaranteed to do.

I knew those sneaky fuckers Maxis and EA were hiding something by purposely avoiding giving any technical hardware details about the Memory Boost feature. And that's exactly why EA will keep it "in testing" probably forever, to cover their sneaky asses. Use it at your own risk, basically. I have no doubt that since introducing the feature, they have probably caused some older, pensioner GPUs into an early burn out death. And if you too carry on playing with Memory Boost active, you are certainly speeding up the premature demise of your own Overclocked, burnt out GPU.

Turn it OFF immediately!!! Trust Maxis come up with a sound technical fix? Ha! Truly, you cannot trust the eejits to pick their own noses. If they did pull out boogers they'd be pulling out their own brains.

In no universe ever, should you need to Overclock a GPU to play Sims 4. Yet Maxis have corrupted the game to the point they need to sneakily Overclock our GPUs to play the busted game. And you think those Arabs are the bad guys?

  21. 2nd Update February 2026 - What's going on with all these "2nd February Updates" you're doing, coolspear? Have you forgotten how to mod, or what?

It would seem so, yep. Although this is not for anything broken or erroneous. I just added four of the latest fish types to those that can be purchased. The Jellyfish from Adventure Awaits EP. And the Kingfish, Cod and Green Crab from Royals EP. Although, when it comes to things Broken and Erroneous, Maxis have done some half-hearted, half-arsed work on these fish and their graphical appearances in the aquariums. There are five Maxis aquariums in the game to date, one from Cats & Dogs, two from Spa Day, one from Dine Out, and the most recent one from Sponge Bob kits. The Kingfish and the Cod fish work fine, animated fine, just like all other fish. But the Jellyfish and the Crab are all over the shop. The Jellyfish is only visible in two aquariums, C&D and Sponge Bob, it does not display in the other three. And the display is a half-arsed, ghost-like special FX only, not an animated object like other fish. The Green Crab likewise only shows as a crab in two aquariums, - I cannot remember which ones - and is an animated object, but real frikken half-hearted and half-arsed animated like Maxis really couldn't give a shit any more, why bother. In three other aquariums, it displays as a different fish, ha!, but still has the shitty animation.

Oh, this better be the last ever EP, Maxis, you really don't care any more.

  22. Update February 2026 - Added Ondarion to the set. Only Royal/Noble business allowed on the streets. So you should see the Royal Thief and Information Broker occasionally milling about, and noble locals looking for sword practice, sword fights, secrets and scandals, all that jazz. The statue in Bellacorde will still get the occasional vandal. Special stall vendors allowed. The Orator will still make announcement on the street podium twice a day. All stuff like that specifically related to the new region remains allowed, but none of the hoards of silly, pointless walkbys Maxis want all regions to have. They're gone as per usual. And speaking of Stall Vendors, if you use my All-In-One NPC Workers mod, then that got an update too for these Ondarion stall vendors to be All-In-One workers. So go get that, too - https://simsasylum.com/tfm/index.php?/topic/13720-world-sim-control-all-in-one-worker-npcs-update-february-2026/
