May 2022 major rework of old major rework. Gotta love Maxis.
Ah, these trays. We have been on a journey with these things, have we not? Ofttimes perilous as Maxis broke the original harmony a few years back, making me take a whole other direction to try and salvage what I could, and now come full circle, (I hope, no more going round the frikken merry-go-round with these.) as they have returned to a state much like the original where I can make more harmonious drink trays once again. With the bumpy ride over, we can now return to the smooth, straight road of drink tray wonderment.
So then, in short, I have returned to making the Mega Tray as a standalone clone, its brief purgatory of having to replace the original tray is over. Which also means it once again no longer conflicts with any other tray mods out there. Celebrations all round, the drinks are on me! On all these trays, to be precise. Enjoy.
Many new drinks types added to the Mega Tray, and, joy of joys, many new individual, independent drinks trays once again. Let the happy celebrations rumble on!
The individual trays once again, the sims will restock drinks autonomously. The Mega Tray, they do not. That's left for you to decide which drinks to serve up.
Many more drinks now than originally advertised, all the way up to the - quite big - range of Batuu drinks, and the otherwise impossible to get hold of on normal residential lots, the Paranormal SpecterSip drinks. Spooooky!
And also three special folders in the rar bundle below, for three very special reworked drinks.
A Snagglefluster tray, but a bit different than any other snagglefluster your sims may have had before. Flaming SnaggleFluster is the new name.
The StrangerVille Mamas Milk Tray. Oh, that's a good one. That's some drink, let me tell you. Just let them drink it and watch the temporary insanity ensue. The sims will never come to any permanent or long term real harm. But it's a giggle when they're a mess with it.
(StrangerVille Mamas Milk drink replaces Granny Smash drink, which did absolutely sweet FA regarding anything before the change. But see how I kept the motherhood theme alive between the two. That's me, alright. And trust me, it was the only thing worth keeping from the original drink. You lose nothing, and gain everything.)
And the Vampire Sun Protect drink. When vamps choose the perk to become sun resistant, this nice-looking chalice drink becomes redundant. Why? Now it's more than just a sun resistant thing. Filling your vamps with a little burst of solar energy, now it's a vampire version of coffee, which they like to imbibe autonomously sometimes, to fight off sleep and low energy. And they'll still get the buff to make them sun resistant for a while, even if they don't need it. So not redundant anymore! Yay!
Quick gag - What's the vampire version of caffeine? Coffine... Okay, no more bad jokes.
That's it, I'll say no more. Don't want to write a whole little novelette here, given that at any time Maxis could do a third U-turn on these things. And if so, I will scrap the project completely.
Update September 2024 - Something of a mini-major update here. Nothing patch related is needed, just personal. First of all, a great many new Autonomous Restock Drink Trays added. Loads and loads from all sorts of bar drinks, nectars, rarities and delicacies and even yukky, potentially poison drinks you would only serve to your worst, most hated enemies. I think doubling the amount of total trays. Your sims spoilt for choice.
The single Mega Drinks Tray mod of this tray set does not need the On Off Alpha mod. Though the variety of drinks available on it has not been updated as yet, so nothing new there.
The reasons behind adding the On Off switches is to better organize the flow of drinking during such scenarios as parties, but just as equally when there are no such special Events occurring, but you want the sims on the lot to just go start drinking for a while, at home, on any boring, normal, uneventful day, where they would otherwise ignore drinks on trays or ignore someone working as a mixologist at a bar. Depending on which trays are switched On or Off, you can guide, herd, sims around the home to different rooms. If a tray is On, it will push one of the sims on the lot to restock it, always happening within seconds such is the potency of the push to restock. Then, with the aid of some new, hidden "Home Drinker" Traits, (More details on the Traits further down.) the sims will love nothing more than to go gather where the tray(s) and the drinks are, and have themselves a little drinks party on an otherwise boring Sunday afternoon. Simply turn the tray(s) Off to end it all. Perhaps also using my Clothes Changing Crystal to also change the attire of sims as you herd them around the house, as it can really make that boring Sunday afternoon impromptu party go with a well-dressed, fashion-fiesta bang. Making your impromptu parties the best parties in town!
The three hidden Traits are 1 - Home Drinker Bars (For Teens upwards.) 2 - Home Drinker Trays (For Toddlers upwards) 3 - Home Drinker Bladder (For Infants upwards.)
Home Drinker Bars will give sims a visible buff that will push them to drink from bars if there is a mixologist working at the bar object. Other than that is does nothing. It does not push them to go get drinks from any other source, nor push them to go tend the bar. As during normal days at home, sims just do not autonomously get bar drinks from a mixologist as there is no role push to do so. With this trait they will drink. And drink and drink. Drink until the mixologist has gone. My preferred method to staff the bars is to summon one of my Virtual Sim Hologram sims to work the bar. As they are already "one of the family," and are friends with all in the family, and will work and work, for days on end if you let them, until you tell them to stop. But you can do whatever you want to put a mixologist to work on a normal, boring Sunday afternoon. Lastly, the Trait doesn't really add to drinks pushing during Party Events at home or when visiting bars and nightclubs, as the roles given to sims during those situations already pushes them to drink from bars.
Home Drinker Trays. Similar to the Home Drinker Bar Trait, but this time the targets are the trays that have available drinks stocked. With this Trait they will drink and drink from those trays, until you turn Off Auto Restocking and there are no more drinks to be had. The Trait is available to toddlers upwards as some trays have child-friendly drinks and one selection on the Mega Tray has toddler specific drinks. (Though not tested if toddlers with this Trait rush to auto grab drinks or continue ignoring them. I'll find out soon enough, or one of you guys can let me know and I'll try to get the toddlers more interested in auto tray drinking.)
Home Drinker Bladder. Indeed, unless you like it real messy with floods of pee on your household floors, either build twenty more toilets on your home lots or give sims this third - essential??? - hidden trait. For ages Infant upwards. Even though infants cannot drink from trays or order drinks from bars, you might be inclined to give them Super Steel Bladders just... because. With this trait, no amount of repeated, endless drinking, imbibing and necking down the liquid goodness lowers the bladder. Super Steel Bladder. With my debug mod linked above, it's quick and easy enough to remove this Trait if ever you want those sim bladders to return to normal and get your money's worth out of those temporarily-decorative toilets and pottys again.
Word of caution for this bladder trait. When giving trait to sim it should also max the bladder motive too. But not always, as after all this is a flakey Maxis mechanic. But even if it does max the motive in that moment, if you go off and play another family for a while, then return to play the family with this trait, the lot loading mechanics which adjusts - lowers - motives regardless of any reward traits or CC traits you have given the sim will most certainly force the bladder motive to be low, perhaps even desperately low. (Booo Maxis. Ten years and you still let this happen. Makes you look like amateurs.) Do not command sim to go to toilet to remedy. In the same way the bladder cannot go down, it cannot go up with this specific mechanic. The sim may be on the toilet for quite some time! Use mods like MC to max bladder, or weerbesu's UI mod, or even my Sonic Shower mod to max bladder again. (I have all three so am spoilt for choice.) Although I think if you wait long enough, the visible buff this bladder trait gives the sim will eventually max the bladder. But, you know, flakey, Maxis, whatever. But if the sim is desperate for a pee and cannot wait, then Sonic Shower to the rescue.
All the CC Traits I make are named alphabetically and similarly, so you should always find them very near to top of Trait list when debug window is opened. You will never have to go looking through hundreds of Traits down the list to find them. Always at the top, always easy and recognizable to spot with appropriate names, icons and descriptions.
Finally, this set also comes with its own Alpha tray mod that all Autonomous Restock trays need. Its function is to add a Rename Tray pie option to the Autonomous Trays (Not Mega Tray) so that you can name them to whatever you want, and also a tooltip display for the trays so when hovering mouse over tray object you will see the default name or the new name you give it. A great help for when an empty tray is switched Off and you forgot what type of drinks it spawns. Now you'll know at a glance of the tooltip.
These trays and traits used in conjunction with my Bars On/Off mod from link above, can really have great effects herding sims around the house for a new dimensions to how parties play out either in the home or on community venues. Especially when using the Outfit Change Crystal to bring greater depth to the proceedings. You do need to use the Alpha On/Off mod from that set for theses trays, so you may as well use the Bars On/Off mod as well. Though there are a great many On/Off mods in that set you may also be interested in.
And finally, finally. The two newer drink trays, Sugar Cane from For Rent and the more recent posh lemon-thingy from poolside Kit, have also had a light tweak. They do not have auto restock added. The only change made is to secure any drinks spawned will be of top Excellent quality. That's all I'll ever do to those two trays.
Temporary Note - I'm going to upload the Outfit Changing Crystal here temporarily. (Since I've been singing its praises so much.) I thought I'd already put it on this site ages ago. But alas not. I probably added it to a bundle rar that's no longer available. When I have the time I will be moving it to its own thread, probably very soon. It's a small, pink crystal, found in Storage/Dressers category. Place it on surface, click for options to change all sims on the lot to any outfit, Everyday, Formal, Gym, Underwear, Party, Swimwear, Hot Weather, Cold Weather and even butt naked. The controlled sim is the only one who does not change, but you can then command the sim to change to nominated attire, or lack thereof! (One day I'll get round to fixing that. Though it's not a glitch, I just need to add another line of code to include the controlled sim in the mass outfit change.) Always planned to add more costumes to it too, maybe one day.

Update June 2023 - Some needed edits due to patch changes and also new drink trays. Bubble Tea being one. There is also an extra mod needed to fix the Bubble Tea Quality glitch. Get that mod here - https://simsasylum.com/tfm/index.php?/topic/16522-a-fix-for-the-bubble-tea-quality-glitch-new-for-june-2023/

The most important change is that all the Autonomous Restock trays now come with the feature to switch the autonomous restocking interaction On or Off. That means the Autonomous Tray mods now require the Alpha mod from the On Off set found here - https://simsasylum.com/tfm/index.php?/topic/15049-assorted-onoff-autonomy-switching-base-game-various-eps-update-august-2024/ It is now a requirement and they will be broken/glitched without that Alpha mod.
The single Mega Drinks Tray mod of this tray set does not need the On Off Alpha mod. Though the variety of drinks available on it has not been updated as yet, so nothing new there.

The new Traits. In the rar below is a mod to add three new hidden Traits to the game. Which you can then give to any sims you want.
