The Florists Vase

This is a cloned, standalone object that allows our sims to purchase all flower types.

To date, (Up to and including 1.55 Realm of Magic) there are 26 flower types, all available to buy via The Florists Vase. 

Many of the flowers come from various additional DLC packs. If you do not have some or none of those packs installed that introduce more flower types to game, then the purchase list on the Florists Vase will show those missing flowers as blank boxes.

The vase is a base game object so all TS4 players can use this mod. Though it will not have the extra flowers available if you do not have the extra packs installed.

The Florists Vase can be found in Decoration / Plants in build mode.

 

Update May 2022

Had to remove a death flower binary file from this mod as it was causing the Juice Fizzer not to recognize death flowers as an ingredient. The same death flower binary file is still present in the Chefs Kitchen Helper Fruit Bowl mod, and it has been updated there so it works fine with the Juice Fizzer. The file is used to give the death flower a monetary value so it can be purchased individually, as Maxis originally set it to a zero monetary value. If at zero, it would be impossible to purchase on its own, you'd have to select other stuff first then add a death flower to the shopping list, as you are spending money. Alone, no dice. So I gave it a monetary value to negate this block. Now that the file is gone from this mod, the death flower will again be zero. Either select other flowers first  and then a death flower, or use my Chefs Kitchen Helper Fruit Bowl Alpha to give it that monetary value once again.

Update 29th April 2017 - Added some more flowers. A couple of base game flowers that I missed, and some others, Here's what's now available - Snapdragon, rose, tulip, daisy, lily, chrysanthemum, orchid, bluebell, bird of paradise, bonsai, death flower, chamomile, toxic chamomile, fang flower, sixam mosquito trap and wolfsbane. That should be all the flower types now.

Since Sims 2 I have been a huge nerd about gardening and gathering every single plant-able object in the game and raising them to the best quality.  Having mods like this & the other food/herb mods you made like this, along with the third mod that makes them all perfect upon buying them has made my game a thousand times easier to deal with.  Thanks so much for making all of these and sharing them.  They literally change my game for me.

Personal Update 4th Aug 2017

Not a patch related update, just a personal one. When I updated this for the Vamp Pack a couple of months back, to include the Sixam Mosquito Trap plant, I'd used the wrong object instance for it. (And here's where I partially blame Maxis.) When new garden, fish or collectable items are released, Maxis have this very handy loot file XML that's just for reference, it does nothing in game. It has all such object instance numbers on it, which I have used successfully to copy the numbers and make all the mods where collectable items are buyable and such. Only this time, Maxis gave the wrong instance number for the Mosquito plant on that handy XML, so that's why it never shows up on the buyable list for the Florists Vase. This has been corrected now after I hunted down the correct object instance number from another reference source, so now the Sixam Mosquito Trap flower seed truly is buyable with this vase.

Another February update for new purchasing options. I forgot to add these in the recent 1.36-139 update, so please re-download this latest version for the new features.

New Flowers - catnip normal, catnip mad, catnip nap, catnip nuzzle.

New Feathers - Pigeon, seagull, crow, duck, finch, cardinal, heron, blue jay, pheasant, puffin, parrot, spotted sixam.

All new flowers and feathers come from Cats & Dogs EP. Normally, for the feathers, the pet goes out and kills the birds in the bush, so your sim can collect each type and finally build a bird sculpture made of feathers. A truly wholesome practice, of course. Making one big dead thing from lots of bits and pieces of many small dead things. Maxis been reading too much Mary Shelly? For those players who have no pets in their sim families as yet, or the needed "slaughter bush" is not available (The WooHoo Bush from Get Together EP from what I've seen in game so far.) then buy the feathers from the vase to complete the set and make the sculpture.

Hi @cadorno12Once again this mod thread suffers the same issue as the other mod for the elements display case. If you are new to this site then you would not be aware that I have been unable to find the time to update each mod thread individually. My time for things is very limited. But I do try when I can, and not that long ago I did upload a rar bundle folder that contains fixes for many mods. Although that was for the 1.80 patch, I do know that all my mods for objects with purchase options work fine right up to the most recent 1.98 patch. Though some mods in that bundle rar are no longer compatible with latest patch, I do know that the objects with purchase options, such as this vase, are fine.

I'm sorry for any confusion. I understand it's a bit of a mess at present. I am trying to get each mod thread up to date, but it's very slow-going. And for anyone new to what's going on with my mods, I can see how it's a bit daunting. My hope is to clear it all up and get all threads as updated and as organised as they once were, but my time available to do that is limited. Hence I upload the bundle rar folders whenever I can.

I appreciate your patience, and in time I will have all mod threads in good order, it's just a matter of finding the time to do it.
