Rosewin Posted November 14, 2023 Report Posted November 14, 2023 Came across this one today and it looks really interesting. First look Early game play
Kimi Posted November 14, 2023 Report Posted November 14, 2023 That's so funny because I was going to post about this today! I watch someone who plays Sims but she got that game as well. Emma Nicole - game play
RedMallie Posted November 14, 2023 Report Posted November 14, 2023 The game looks amazing and the customization is unbelievable. The characters, or zois, well, the last video shows that they can be edited pretty well. The gesture of lifting the hand to the hair annoyed me really pretty quickly, though. there is height difference in game, but I didn’t get to see if females can be taller or bigger than males. Thank you both for sharing, @Kimi and @Rosewin!!!
zembee Posted November 14, 2023 Report Posted November 14, 2023 That looks too real. I thought it interesting that the devs sent a PC with the game for the review, so the hardware specs must be quite high and that may be the only downside. Be interesting to see how a single attached house would look and what you can do with it, such as landscaping and backyard activities. I wonder once you set up the clothing are you stuck with it or can you go to the closet and change to another outfit. Nice find.
Klinn Posted November 14, 2023 Report Posted November 14, 2023 Amazing! The "open world" may not be as big as TS3 or Life By You but a highly detailed metropolis is pretty cool. Was surprised to see "violence" i.e. the punch and slaps. Hopefully won't have too many jerks roaming the world. Thanks for all the links! @Kimi do you think this should deserve it's own thread in the "Other Sims Games" category? Just a suggestion before this thread explodes. Edit: haven't watched all the vids yet so forgive me if this has been covered, but I wonder if the game will support mods?
Klinn Posted November 14, 2023 Report Posted November 14, 2023 . Some pics from the devs, some showing things that appeared in the video, some new things too: You can see they're still struggling a bit with hand positions so they don't clip through clothing or hair but without leaving too much of a gap. Difficult balance if you're not using IK targets as part of the pose / animation system. BTW, if you see any obnoxious images in my posts here, in any thread, please let me know. My site was hacked to some degree recently. To the best of my knowledge they just defaced the home page but who knows if they may get in again and try something else. My apologies in advance if it happens.

Moved it. 11 hours ago, zembee said: I thought it interesting that the devs sent a PC with the game for the review, so the hardware specs must be quite high and that may be the only downside. The one person that I linked to got a new PC probably because I think she plays on a laptop. It will be interesting to see the requirements for it.
Klinn Posted November 17, 2023 Report Posted November 17, 2023 This inZOI Let's Play is in Korean so I have no idea what they're saying, but it does show a number of things I haven't seen before. About halfway through there are scenes of a couple falling in love, getting married, pregnancy and having the baby. Some may just be basic placeholder gameplay bits at the moment but still interesting to see what the devs are thinking about.
Rosewin Posted November 17, 2023 Author Report Posted November 17, 2023 No egg beater and baster when they have a baby, how shocking!
Klinn Posted May 20, 2024 Report Posted May 20, 2024 A few weeks ago the devs dropped a new video talking about some of the things they're working on, including the system for sharing CC and mods. Or how about not only riding around in cars, but traffic accidents that can impact (pun) your character. Don't worry, there seems to be some sort time rewind system, i.e. going back to an auto-save not long before the accident. Or how about sleepwalking at night? it's in Korean but with English subtitles. Various new video clips are shown to demonstrate the features they talk about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGIDg8Tx5Ro To me it still seems to have the feel of a really cool tech demo. I'm not sure if the devs have really figured out what the *game* is supposed to be about.
RedMallie Posted May 21, 2024 Report Posted May 21, 2024 I’ve been watching videos about this game. Frankly, it all looks too good to be true, but I’m keeping an open mind about it.
Klinn Posted August 16, 2024 Report Posted August 16, 2024 They are releasing a demo of the character creator available on Steam from August 20th to the 26th. I gotta remember to try it out. Where's my pad of sticky notes??
Kimi Posted August 16, 2024 Report Posted August 16, 2024 What?? That's awesome! Thanks for the update.
RedMallie Posted August 17, 2024 Report Posted August 17, 2024 Thank you!! I did see the video announcing this, but forgot the date of release.
zembee Posted August 20, 2024 Report Posted August 20, 2024 Thanks Klinn! Just watched a play though on this game, and it looks amazing. I was really impressed with the ability to ride the carnival rides on the beach, after getting out of a car. There were some issues, such as not multi tasking and must stand up to interact with others, but still in development. The build mode looks awesome.
NyteRose Posted August 20, 2024 Report Posted August 20, 2024 I'm counting down the release of the character creator demo for the 21st. Can't wait to try it out. I also have the game wishlisted on my Steam.
Rosewin Posted August 21, 2024 Author Report Posted August 21, 2024 I had a very brief play with character creator. It doesn't run on my computer so Winnie downloaded it on one of his, so excuse the phone pics, he didn't have screenshots working. Of course I had to make Thomas. He turned out very young looking. It is definitely interesting and the lighting and shading are so good. I only really mucked around with it for about half and hour, so the likeness is not as close as I would like but it was fun and quite intuitive on how things work. I think for those who like to make realistic looking sims it is definitely going to give EA a run for it's money, especially if game play is not broken or lacking on launch.
Kimi Posted August 21, 2024 Report Posted August 21, 2024 I watched a creator play around building a house. The mechanics are very much like The Sims, but the options are limitless. They basically gave us the color wheel back. I just finished downloading the character creator so I'll mess with that in a few. He looks great! And you're right, the realistic quality is fantastic for me.
Klinn Posted August 21, 2024 Report Posted August 21, 2024 Great job @Rosewin ! For those about to try it, note that you do not have to link your Steam account to Krafton. Just say no, and when the character creator starts up, say no again and quickly press Return otherwise it goes into an endless loop of pestering you. Note to game companies -- we don't want an account for every bloody game that comes out!! My first quick attempt: Can't seem to remove the faint white grid lines at the moment. Maybe when the official screenshot feature becomes active (this is a Steam shot). Couldn't find a way to shorten the bangs a touch. Anyone know? To reduce the vastly oversized "bee-stung" lips I had to go into the detailed editor which give you more control points to play with. Still not quite what I was going for. Such fun. Edit: Oh yes, @RedMallie I'm sorry to say that the "brush hair away" animation you got tired of quickly is frequently used in the character creator. Sorry! Edit #2: On the main title screen, if you click on the cat it will do one of several little animations.
Klinn Posted August 21, 2024 Report Posted August 21, 2024 . Or maybe you'd prefer somebody a little more hunky? Hairline across the forehead is a bit too straight-line, needs a bit of ragged growth to soften it. Skin tone on the hands (in particular) and chest is too even, needs some slight randomness to simulate pores etc. Face textures are better. No stubble-type growth for the face, just beards and mustaches. Edit: When choosing clothing there appears to be a link to items created with Marvelous Designer. That would be an amazing feature so you can create your own clothing and bring it into the game. Pretty cool. For anyone who hasn't heard of Marvelous Designer, it basically lets you create clothing by laying it out in panels the way a seamstress / tailor would then stitch it together. It has a trial demo but if you get hooked you'll have to pay for it.
FzzyDg8 Posted August 21, 2024 Report Posted August 21, 2024 Looking good @Klinn and @Rosewin!! I'm intrigued with this new game and will be closely watching any new developments.
Rosewin Posted August 21, 2024 Author Report Posted August 21, 2024 Nice overview @Klinn Good to know about Steam too. Looking forward to what you think of it too @Kimi
RedMallie Posted August 21, 2024 Report Posted August 21, 2024 Thomas looks very realistic, Rose!!!! Well done!!! @Rosewin @Klinn thank you so much for the notes on how to avoid registering to Krafton!!! About the pushing hair animation, I am downloading the creator now. From what I've seen, I may be able to overlook THAT, if the characters can be as varied as the ones you're showing us, or the ones I've seen from youtubers!!!
RedMallie Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 Ok, this may be obvious, but, please. We can make characters but we can't save them yet?
Klinn Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 I haven't explored it fully, but when you're looking at the list of zoi presets there's a button in the upper-left corner of the list where you can save the appearance of your zoi. When you start up again and create a 'new' zoi, use that to easily make it look the same. Not exactly what you're after but it's all I've found so far. Further experimentation needed!
RedMallie Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 Thank you, @Klinn!! You're right. I did save the 2 Zois I've made as presets, and I was able to find them in the Character creator. Indeed more experimentation needed!!! I've been watching videos about the build mode and it's amazing!! Forgot to take pictures of the guy I made, but here is Trina, the girl I created. It's one of the first sims I ever played in TS3, but in InZoi the characterization takes on a completely different level of depth!
Kimi Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 I goofed around with it a little Tuesday before I left for the day. I stopped because I got a little annoyed with the edit mode but then I figured it out. Hopefully there will be better explanation when the game is actually out, but I do like the look of everything.
Klinn Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 Trina looks great Red! When you added the hat, did you have to do anything special so her hair wouldn't stick through it? Or does the game automatically trim the hair so it fits inside the hat? Yes Kimi, I find the user interface rather jumbled with controls scattered in various places. Not the worst, but not the best. And definitely needs more of a tutorial or reference guide to help one learn it. I also dislike the low contrast white-on-medium-gray color scheme. With small text I find it a little difficult to read. I don't have 20-year-old eyes any more!
RedMallie Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 Thanks! I agree with you that there’s a need for better tutorials or actually for any tutorial. It was also difficult to see the commands or menus on that background. After I thought I’d lost the first version of Trina I made v2 and liked it better. Not much tweaking one of the face presets, just bits here and there. @Klinn I opted to give her a preset outfit; it had a jacket over the white blouse and I just took it out and saved that as a new outfit. The hat was part of it, too, and i had checked the catalog before, so I didn’t change that beret.
Firestaar1 Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 Oh wow, right off the bat this game already looks more developed and complete then Life By You did, especially with the characters!! *may have to DL the character creator*
Kimi Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 FYI I had an update on it today. Weird that they would do that on something that is limited.
RedMallie Posted August 22, 2024 Report Posted August 22, 2024 @Firestaar1 as Kimi pointed out, if you wish to try it, the demo is available until the 26th of August if I recall correctly.

It may have been to fix how we were able to skip the registration process? I can't skip that now! The 'pestering' as Klinn called it pops up again and again.
Klinn Posted August 23, 2024 Report Posted August 23, 2024 Sigh. Yes, same thing for me too. Annoying companies. And before that a dialog box pops up with Korean text (I assume) saying something about Nvidia drivers. A couple of buttons but labeled in Korean so I have no idea what they're about. I can see them asking for a login if you're choosing to use the "Canvas" thing for saving or loading characters, houses, etc in their online library. But for off line single player, there's no need for this account silliness,
KayBee Posted August 23, 2024 Report Posted August 23, 2024 They look gorgeous. I'm fairly certain my graphics card can't handle it but I might give it a try anyway. It looks like something I'd want to play in at some point in the future. They look so realistic.
RedMallie Posted August 23, 2024 Report Posted August 23, 2024 Well, well, well. I gave in and registered at Krafton so that I could create Mallie Red. I've never thought of Mallie as my self-sim or now, self-zoi, but rather as that pixel alter ego that runs wild in my saves here and there. Her InZoi version matches quite well with the mental image I've had of her. Ah! I made her an individualist. The first four pictures were taken using the photo capture feature from the Character Studio. I found the poses and expressions options, yay!! She's a young adult, but the tweaking makes her look much older than the Asian counterparts. I think this pose fits the idea I have of her personality. Another angle. I like that you can zoom in or our in the feature, and change from portrait to landscape. Also, the pictures are saved as JPG by default, which is very space efficient. I like this angle of her face the best. I hope there are longer versions of hair in the game. This one was the best I could do, but I picture her with even longer hair. These 2 photos are screenshots from the Character Studio itself. The lighting is quite different and the fixed neutral expression does give her a different vibe. Also, some YouTubers have mentioned that the range of the brest and butt sliders is quite limited, and I agree. I hope we get wider ranges.
RedMallie Posted August 23, 2024 Report Posted August 23, 2024 I’m wondering if there is a difference in the time playing TS4 with InZoi character studio available for the weekend. Might this be something to make EA worry and attempt to fix the bugs in their game? Or am I only wishfully thinking?
Rosewin Posted August 23, 2024 Author Report Posted August 23, 2024 Oh @RedMallie, she is looking sultry as a zoi.
Kimi Posted August 23, 2024 Report Posted August 23, 2024 Great work! She's gorgeous. I will probably mess around with it this weekend.
FzzyDg8 Posted August 23, 2024 Report Posted August 23, 2024 Nice work, Red. I think The Sims have finally met their match.
RedMallie Posted August 23, 2024 Report Posted August 23, 2024 Thank you, ladies! As we’ve said, there is a need for tutorials or clearer descriptions of the features, but the characters do look unbelievably realistic. I’m going to check videos from YouTube about the building features. I’ve read some say it’s difficult, but others said it was quite easy, flexible, and intuitive. The graphics and style and the building features are very important to me, but playing the game should not be a nightmare. I’ve seen a couple YouTubers try to drive their Zois somewhere, and the realism of traffic jams has made it frustrating to see. I want cars, but I don’t want my zoi to be stuck in traffic for hours on end, that’s just too close to reality, thank you. Apparently, there will be three cities in the base game. One based on Seoul of course, one resembling Santa Monica in California, and one resembling another south Asian city. I want to see that map / city, in case it can work as the setting for out of time saves. Considering all this, and that the style is not exclusively Asian looking, I’m definitely thinking about getting the game down the road.
KayBee Posted August 23, 2024 Report Posted August 23, 2024 I'm installing the demo now. If my PC can't handle it, that's fine. I just want to check it out for myself. Well, it's the graphics card that I think is way under specs, not the rest of it. But I can always upgrade or get a new PC in the future.
Loralie0512 Posted August 24, 2024 Report Posted August 24, 2024 I’m glad you all seem to be enjoying it! I am just way too weirded out but how realistic they look.
Klinn Posted August 24, 2024 Report Posted August 24, 2024 If you're weirded out now, just imagine if the Wicked Whims people get hold of it. Edit: PC Mag has a short post with tips for using the character creator. I knew about some of the main ones but others, like rotating the eye, were news to me. Quote Use both basic edit mode and detailed edit mode to sculpt faces, because they do different things Uncheck "symmetry mode" to give yourself some lifelike imperfections, because nobody's got total face symmetry You can rotate eyes by clicking and dragging the half circle line around an eye in basic edit mode Find facial detail sliders like eye bags and smile lines under the skin color picker icon Use the Customize Outfit tab to change things like sleeve style, neckline, and shirt tuck of a top Change hair length by picking one of the "custom" hairstyles and finding the "length" slider in the color picker menu Skin details like freckles and beauty marks are in the "blush" section of the makeup menu
