Klinn Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 I thought it might be useful to start a separate thread listing the latest updates from the developers which include both bug fixes and enhancements. These are coming fairly quickly and are detailed enough that they tend clutter up our main discussion thread about the game. @Kimi, this is just a suggested addition. If you think if would be better to fold this type of info into main thread, please feel free to consolidate this thread. To kick things off, HotFix 0.1.6 (source here) mostly addresses Zois' reactions and conversations while in an "intense emotional state" to make their behavior feel more natural, plus some bug fixes. The item "Fixed an issue where Zois would automatically switch to their rabbit hole work uniform even outside of working hours" is one that was especially bugging me. Glad to see the devs address it. Quote [v0.1.6] Hotfix Details A hotfix has been applied to improve stability and address known issues in inZOI. Hello, Creators. We would like to inform you that the following hotfix has been applied to inZOI. Please refer to the details below for more information. ◆ Hotfix Details ️ Patch Date: April 22nd, 2025 ️ Game Version: 20250422.2471.W Gameplay Update ️ Conversation now reflects Zoi’s Primary Emotion ※ [inZOI Team’s Comment] Previously, Zoi’s conversations were primarily influenced by personality traits and chemistry with others. We’ve improved the system so that when a Zoi experiences one of 22 intense emotional states—such as euphoria, rage, or despair—their dialogue and behaviour now reflect that emotional context more naturally. [Targeted Emotions] Excitement / Joy / Enthusiasm / Ecstasy / Elation / Laughter / Hysterical Laughter / Euphoria / Anger / Rage / Irritation / Discomfort / Displeasure / Humiliation / Embarrassment / Confusion / Fear / Dread / Surprise / Despair / Depression / Shock This change reduces awkward interactions that don't match a Zoi’s emotional state. Now, when a Zoi is experiencing an intense emotion, their reactions will reflect it in a more immersive way. When emotions are less heightened, conversations will continue to flow naturally based on day-to-day chemistry between Zois. You may also notice more intense or even aggressive behavior when Zois are overwhelmed by strong emotions. To keep things balanced, we plan to introduce systems in future updates that help Zois calm down more naturally. ️ Karma Interaction Improvements 1) Psycat Alerts Disabled ※ [inZOI Team’s Comment] Psycat alerts that appeared when the city’s karma level declined will no longer be shown. This change is intended to reduce the feeling of unnecessary judgment during negative situations and help players stay immersed. 2) Karma Rating Criteria Adjusted ※ [inZOI Team’s Comment] We’ve revised the evaluation scale from “slightly bad or lower / normal or higher” to “bad or lower / good”. This adjustment helps prevent overly frequent negative evaluations caused by minor fluctuations. 3) Reduced Frequency of Karma Choice Prompts ※ [inZOI Team’s Comment] Karma-related choices were appearing too often and interrupting the natural flow of gameplay. We've reduced their frequency to allow for a smoother, less disruptive experience. 4) New Conditions for Karma-Related Interactions ※ [inZOI Team’s Comment] Karma interactions will now consider a Zoi's emotional state and relationship dynamics, resulting in more immersive and context-aware dialogue. 5) 50% Decrease in Karma Interaction Selection Rate ※ [inZOI Team’s Comment] Karma-related interactions were occurring too frequently, sometimes triggering behaviour that felt out of place. We've decreased the selection rate by 50%, allowing karma changes to progress more gradually and in line with the game’s overall pacing. Bug Fixes Gameplay ️ Fixed an Issue where time continued to pass if the “Play as Existing Family” option was selected in ghost mode and the “No Household Members” popup was left open. ️ Fixed an issue where pregnancy attempts were incorrectly handled when the household has 7 members. ️ Fixed an issue where MY Textures applied to walls, floors, or ceilings were displayed with incorrect materials. ️ Fixed an issue where applying a building preset containing deleted or missing AI textures did not properly remove the unavailable textures. Ambition/Goal ️ Fixed an issue where only certain dialogue options were counted toward the “Have a Positive Conversation” mission. Career and Interaction ️ Fixed an issue where a married NPC with jobs would automatically change back into their work uniform even after manually changing clothes. ️ Fixed an issue where Zois would automatically switch to their rabbit hole work uniform even outside of working hours. ️ Fixed an issue where queuing the “Propose Marriage” interaction with a Zoi in a set relationship would trigger moving in without completing the marriage. Crash Fixes ️ Fixed a crash that could occur when editing color or material during Build or Create a Zoi mode. ※ [inZOI Team’s Comment] Alongside this fix, we’ve updated the way textures are sorted. All imported textures will now be added to the bottom of the list in descending order. Previously used textures will also follow this rule. For convenience, newly imported textures will now automatically scroll into view and be focused in the list. We hope this helps improve usability. ️ Fixed a crash that could occur when deleting a 3D print mesh while the Zoi was wearing a 3D print accessory in Build Mode. We’ll continue working to make inZOI more stable and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and valuable feedback. The inZOI Team
Kimi Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 Klinn, I agree with this! It's more of an update/news type of thing and it would get lost in the main thread for this game. All good!
Firestaar1 Posted April 24 Report Posted April 24 Great idea for a thread Klinn! I wish they'd hurry up and address the hunger & sleep motives declining so rapidly. It's one of the most prominent issues in their feedback on discord.
Klinn Posted April 29 Author Report Posted April 29 Another hotfix released today adds some new shinys to Character Studio and Build Mode as well as a few other tweaks and bug fixes. More details here including some screenshots of the new hairstyles and build bits. @Firestaar1 Although there are some tweaks to the hunger issue when eating "Street Food" it's not the sort of overhaul you might have been hoping for. Quote [v0.1.7] Hotfix Details A hotfix has been applied to improve stability and address known issues in inZOI. Hello, Creators. We would like to inform you that the following hotfix has been applied to inZOI. Please refer to the details below for more information. ◆ Hotfix Details ️ Patch Date: April 29th, 2025 ️ Game Version: 20250428.2678.W Gameplay Update ️ New Items Added to Character Customization & Build Mode ※ [inZOI Team’s Comment] To help Creators express their creativity and imagination even more vividly, we’ve prepared new updates for both Character Customization and Build Mode. Enjoy expanding your stories with these fresh updates! 1) Character Customization Updates - Hair ㄴ 3 new short-length hairstyle options added - Clothing ㄴ 2 new basic tops / 1 new basic bottom / 3 types of socks by length / 9 new types of stockings added - Accessories ㄴ 4 new hats / 1 new pair of glasses / 5 new hair accessories added - Eyelashes ㄴ 2 new eyelash styles added 2) Build Elements Updates - Tile Textures for Build Customization ㄴ 25 new textures added to decorate walls, floors, roofs, and ceilings - Short Stairs ㄴ 4 types of short-length stairs added for more flexible building options - Doors and Windows ㄴ 13 new doors and 16 new windows in various sizes and styles added ️ New Update Banner Added to the Lobby ※ [inZOI Team’s Comment] A new banner has been added to help you easily view the newly added furniture, hairstyles, and more at a glance. ️ Slower Rate of Lot Pollution ※ [inZOI Team’s Comment] We have significantly slowed the rate at which lots become dirty. Although cleanliness is designed as an element Creators can manage themselves, the previous setting caused pollution to occur too frequently, disrupting the natural flow of gameplay. With this patch, the pollution speed has been greatly eased, and we are also considering adding an option to disable lot cleanliness changes entirely in a future update. ️ Improved Sudden Emotional Stability for Zois ※ [inZOI Team’s Comment] Based on reports from Creators, we have addressed the issue where Zois' emotions would change too rapidly and unnaturally. Now, the primary emotion will only change if the emotional score reaches 2 points or higher. Otherwise, the Zois' base emotion will remain stable. As this adjustment might slow emotional changes slightly in some situations, we plan to introduce further improvements to ensure even more natural emotional transitions. ️ Adjusted hunger restoration from street food to prevent Zois from getting hungry too frequently. Bug Fixes Gameplay ️ Fixed an issue where male Zois could not eat street food while seated. ️ Fixed an issue where the Tteokbokki-related urge could not be completed. Character ️ Fixed an issue where Zois' facial appearance set in 'Create a Zoi' appeared differently in-game. Build Mode ️ Fixed an issue where the original creator was not retained when applying a lot preset of a different size than the current property. ️ Fixed an issue where the default color and material would only apply to part of the stairs after rotating stairs and applying a stair wall. Crash Fixes ️ Fixed an issue where graphical glitches and intermittent freezes could occur during SceneDepthZ processing while playing. Other Issues ️ Fixed an issue where changes made in Game Options were automatically applied without clicking "Apply" in the confirmation popup. ️ Fixed an issue where save files could not be loaded if the file path contained certain special characters. Finally, we've improved localization quality for several languages to ensure a more natural experience. You can check the localization status for each language under [Options > Gameplay > Game Language]. We’ll continue working to make inZOI more stable and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and valuable feedback. The inZOI Team
Firestaar1 Posted April 29 Report Posted April 29 Some changes headed in a decent direction. At least they've addressed how frequently lots get dirty & they are truly listening to our feedback as several players-including me- requested option to disable dirtiness completely, which in their notes they're "considering" adding option to turn it off.
RedMallie Posted April 29 Report Posted April 29 Ooh!! I hope they do listen to that!!! Thank you too, Fire!!
Klinn Posted April 29 Author Report Posted April 29 The length of that new "bob" hairstyle heavily featured in the screenshots cannot be lengthened at all, only shortened to almost a page boy style. I wish we could have lengthened it just a bit.
Klinn Posted May 11 Author Report Posted May 11 The developers have announced new details about the upcoming inZOI ModKit initial release. It will only allow modding of certain things but certainly more than enough to get our feet wet and understand how inZOI modding will be carried out. Unfortunately the ModKit will only be available through the Epic Games Store (free). I guess it makes sense since the game is running on Epic's Unreal graphics engine, but it means having to create yet another account for another store. Sigh. I assume that simply using mods will not require this, or somebody over at Nexus might create an inZOI mod manager to avoid Epic's store but if you want to try creating mods it looks like you'll need to sign up with Epic. Preliminary details below, with the actual release due by the end of May. Quote Hello, Creators. At the end of May 2025, inZOI’s long-awaited ModKit will launch, along with our first modding update! This announcement explains what will be possible with the ModKit and what modding features will be added over time. Please see below for details. 1. ModKit Release Preview The inZOI ModKit is an official tool that makes modding easy and accessible for everyone. After the late May update, it will be available for download via the Epic Games Store. Major features include: ◆ Download inZOI Assets - In the late May update, representative meshes (FBX) and Json data files for outfit sets and standard furniture will be provided. Additional assets will be added through future updates. - By editing the Json files used in-game, you’ll be able to freely adjust various states and conditions. - Example: A bed that restores sleep in 5 minutes - Example: Changing the Flirt buff duration to 10 hours ◆ Maya & Blender Plugins - Official plugins for Maya and Blender will be provided to make it easier to create inZOI 3D assets. - These plugins let you import the downloaded meshes into your tools and use them in your workflow. ◆ Create Unreal-Based Mod Projects - Assets made in Maya, Blender, or other tools can be imported into ModKit and turned into Unreal plugin format mod projects. ◆ CurseForge Integration - Your completed mods can be uploaded and packaged on CurseForge. - Other creators will be able to easily search for and download your mods via the in-game CurseForge interface. 2. Modding Update Roadmap To help expand the inZOI modding ecosystem step by step, we’ve planned three modding updates throughout 2025. These updates will lay the foundation by expanding key features. Going forward, we’ll continue to evolve based on your feedback. ◆ May Update The May update will introduce modding tools for outfit sets and furniture, along with a data editing UI that makes it easier to modify game data. With the official launch of the ModKit, we’ll continue improving based on your feedback. ◆ September Update In September, modding will expand to character features like faces and hair, as well as architectural elements like doors, fences, pillars, and windows. You’ll also be able to create interaction-based content like conversations, voice, rewards, and motion. ◆ December Update In December, most outfits will become moddable. You’ll also be able to edit interaction scripts and access localization tools, empowering you to create deeper and more diverse content. 3. Additional Notes Our modding policy will be published on the official inZOI website in mid-May 2025. It will include guidelines, restrictions, IP ownership, and monetization terms. Please refer to this policy when using modding features. We’ll also continue gathering your feedback and working with you to build a better modding environment. To kick things off, we’ll hold a ModKit-themed AMA and launch a dedicated feedback channel. More details will be shared in a separate notice later in May. We appreciate your interest in modding with inZOI! Thank you. The inZOI Team The same info plus some screenshots can be found here. Looks like I'll be brushing up on my pitiful Blender skills! Last time I used it was for some Sims3 mods and that was ages ago.
RedMallie Posted May 12 Report Posted May 12 Thank you for this info, @Klinn I hope that modding becomes easier because I am definitely a user more than a modder. I am very much looking forward to trying creators mods, especially those for blocking annoying features in the game. If you ever choose to make something, count me on for testing it, ok?
Firestaar1 Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 I'm really hoping the patch also focuses on some of the consistent issues that have been reported and not just on the ModManager
RedMallie Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 Ah! Yes! Absolutely!! Modders should not have to fix a game. It is the responsibility of the original developers, for sure! And the sooner, the better, I agree.
Klinn Posted May 23 Author Report Posted May 23 The devs have posted updated information about their immediate plans. The May game update has been postponed until mid-June. There is also more details about the upcoming ModKit and how players will be able to use game mods. Quote Hello, Creators. Kjun here. Today, I’d like to explain how your valuable feedback is being reflected in the game and also share an update regarding the schedule change for the update initially planned for May. 1. Player Feedback Channels Your feedback is always our most important starting point. We review feedback and bug reports submitted through channels like Discord, Steam, and customer support (CS) on a daily basis. We don't just collect opinions — we also examine the context of the feedback and how many players have had similar experiences. Although we cannot implement every suggestion immediately, we prioritize them based on frequency and impact. For bugs, we assess whether the issue is unresolvable by the player or whether it frequently disrupts immersion. We will continue to clarify this prioritization process and improve how we communicate with you around how feedback is reflected in the game. 2. Update Delay and Additional Modding Details We sincerely apologize to those who were waiting for the May update. The update that was originally planned for the end of May, including the modding system, has been postponed to mid-June. We felt there were still areas that needed improvement, and we wanted to prioritize quality over speed. Although the schedule has shifted, we are working to deliver content that’s truly satisfying. There have also been some misconceptions circulating about the ModKit since we shared early details. We’ve spent a long time internally exploring the best structure to support modding, and based on your feedback, we realized we needed to explain it more clearly. The ModKit is a tool designed to help you create mods. Its purpose is to make it easier to create mod content and allow for more flexible sharing. While inZOI includes a built-in CurseForge integration, we’ve broadened support so that creators can share mods in two ways: 1. You can upload your mod to CurseForge and install it through the in-game Mod Browser. 2. Or, you can save the mod locally and move it to the Documents\inZOI\Mods folder to use it manually. This system aims to support creative freedom and expression, not just mod sharing. We believe inZOI is only complete when enhanced by the creativity of each individual creator. Our goal is to provide an open and supportive environment for everyone to bring their worlds to life. The June update will include the following modding features: ️ A convenient tool to edit or replace graphics for set outfits and furniture ️ Developer-accessible JSON files to customize game settings and logic ️ Sample projects that demonstrate how to create clothing, hairstyles, furniture, and interactions For beginners, we’re also offering the CAZ Wizard tool specifically for set outfit modding. This helps new modders get started more easily. While data-based modding is possible for all outfit types beyond sets, we are preparing a separate tutorial guide due to its structural complexity. We plan to continue expanding support so creators of all skill levels can participate. Some features — including scripting — won’t be available at the initial ModKit launch, as development is still ongoing. We ask for your understanding and promise to deliver a high-quality ModKit as soon as possible. 3. Game Content Improvements Alongside modding, we are also working to improve how Zois express emotions and show personality in the June update. During our work on emotional stability in the April update, we discovered some unexpected side effects. Currently, some Zois freeze or fail to reflect emotions through facial expressions or behaviors — this will be addressed in June. We also heard feedback that Zois sometimes lack distinctiveness in their behavior. We’re adding emotion-based conversations and reactions, so that even the same actions vary depending on emotional state. For example, a sad Zoi might 'cry in the bathroom.' Certain interactions may be more or less likely depending on mood, and even eating may differ based on emotions or needs. This is just the beginning. We want Zois to develop unique personalities over time, and respond more naturally based on their emotional state. We are committed to evolving this system long-term. We can’t wait to see what kind of worlds you create with inZOI. We truly support and celebrate your imagination. To everyone who’s been waiting for the May update — thank you, and we’ll be back with the June update very soon. Thank you. - Kjun
Firestaar1 Posted May 23 Report Posted May 23 4 minutes ago, Klinn said: we wanted to prioritize quality over speed What is this prioritization of quality over speed they speak of?? Such a novel concept
Klinn Posted May 29 Author Report Posted May 29 The devs have posted their Mods Policy which contains some interesting provisions. I've pulled out some parts below and added my comments. Quote If you violate this Mod Policy, the Company may take appropriate actions to remediate the violation, including but not limited to removal or blocking of the Mod and termination of the user’s license to access the Game. Yikes. So if they don't approve of what you produce, you can't play the game you've paid for. That seems a tad harsh. Quote Mods cannot change, reproduce or otherwise alter the Game code, object code, source code or the internal structure of the Game’s software or related Services. So no DLL-type core mods. Not sure if this would include the so-called scripting mods like Twallan's TS3 mods since they link into the game code. Quote You are prohibited from selling Your Mods for profit or monetizing them in any way. You may not provide exclusive content, features, or benefits to donors or supporters of any Mods. All users must have equal access to the full Mods once released. No more Patron type sites offering early access to supporters. Quote By creating Your Mods, you grant the Company a non-exclusive, transferable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, and modify Your Mods in connection with the Game for any purpose, commercial or otherwise, in any format existing now or in the future. This is pretty standard for companies to try to claim. Quote The Company reserves the right to remove or restrict access to Mods at any time, without prior notice, to prevent such content from being made publicly available that it deems, in its sole discretion, to be illegal, harmful, offensive, excessively explicit, misleading, or otherwise in violation of this policy Do they consider Wicked Whims and the like to be excessively explicit? How about the TS3-style "nude underwear"? I suspect they're going to get a tiny bit of push back concerning this policy. The devs are running an AMA discussion for a couple of days but this will be in written format, i.e. people submit questions they will provide answers at the end. They're trying to exert noticeably more control over the mod scene than exists for TS3 for example. I suspect they will find discover that's a futile battle.
RedMallie Posted May 29 Report Posted May 29 Thank you for your notes and the link, @Klinn I'll read the whole article later. 49 minutes ago, Klinn said: No more Patron type sites offering early access to supporters. I imagine that this is going to provoke that some content creators (probably many?) do not bother with InZoi. 51 minutes ago, Klinn said: Yikes. So if they don't approve of what you produce, you can't play the game you've paid for. That seems a tad harsh. I'm already kind of thinking that this was a bad buy for me. Should have considered the weight of the traditional culture behind the company before buying it, hoping that the modding community would make the game better for me. -sigh- 54 minutes ago, Klinn said: Do they consider Wicked Whims and the like to be excessively explicit? How about the TS3-style "nude underwear"? I'm quite certain they do. I wonder if the "sexy" lingerie that is already available will be banned? Or maybe that is the sexiest they accept? 54 minutes ago, Klinn said: They're trying to exert noticeably more control over the mod scene than exists for TS3 for example. Kimi Posted May 30 Report Posted May 30 Their provisions remind me of when Maxis had their EULA. It was harsh as well. I was scared to install mods! But I think most companies know that their game will be modded and there's really nothing that they can do to stop it. The trick for them will be catching the people. Black market mods. Kidding, but am I??
BrianZ Posted May 30 Report Posted May 30 Wicked Whims does violate the TS4 EULA if you interpret it strictly, but EAxis have made it pretty clear that they don't have a problem with WW. They've made joking references to it with their various "Wicker Whims" items, and they certainly know who Turbodriver is, and they feature his family-friendly mods on CurseForge. So that part sounds like it's simply grounds to ban anything that is genuinely objectionable, just like in the TS4 EULA. The "no modding for profit" part is a bad idea though. They should consider EAxis' policy of "early access is okay, but everything must be made free after x amount of time." The best and most complex mods are by creators who make enough on Patreon to do it full time.
RedMallie Posted May 30 Report Posted May 30 I agree with this about the profit. You can see that Weerbesu has 2595 paying patrons, and he's been keeping UI Cheats and his other mods up to date and relevant quite well. I do not patron him, but I think it is valid that he had that option. What I'm disappointed of, is when a creator becomes part of the EA Creator network or whatever that is called. I think that is EA's way of keeping everyone under wraps, and the creators making (and saying) what EA wants. I feel that it takes freedom away form the creator to do more and better on her or his own. I much rather prefer that they were openly hired by EA to fix the game, instead of urging us to buy this or that, because they get a commission from EA. I do get that it is their right, I just feel weirdly disappointed.
Klinn Posted June 9 Author Report Posted June 9 The devs posted a Preview of June Update. Besides the promised Mod Kit, the June update brings a number of other improvements and additions. The ones I found interesting are: Teenage Zois can now engage in romantic interactions with one another. That said, looking back, I personally wish we could have made Teenager and Adult Zois appear more visually distinct from each other. (no kidding! You still *can* do this if you commit the time & resources) Player Zois can now start conversations via text message. While you won't be able to write custom messages, your Zoi can send texts to other Zois to make plans with them as their relationships grow. We hope to develop a feature someday that allows you to write your own messages as well. Cheats are coming but no mention of what they will be. Quote Hello, Creators. Kjun here. Before we dive in, I'd like to once again sincerely apologize to all the Creators who were eagerly awaiting the May update. Moving forward, we'll do our best to share updates in a timely manner. inZOI's June update is scheduled for release on June 13 (Friday), and we're committed to making it one that's worth the wait. This update will include previously announced modding features (ModKit), key features from the roadmap revealed during the showcase, other various new content additions, system improvements, and bug fixes. Here's a sneak peak at what you can expect to see. Updates to Family and Relationship Systems ◆ More Ways to Build Families ️ Zois can now have children regardless of marital status. One new method of doing so, adoption, was originally planned to have various prerequisites. However, to allow players to form families more freely, we chose to simplify the system by minimizing the required conditions. In addition, you will be able to select a Zoi with your desired traits and have a child using their genetic information through medical procedures. We hope these features will give you the freedom to create families in your own way. ◆ Teenage Romance ️ Teenage Zois can now engage in romantic interactions with one another. That said, looking back, I personally wish we could have made Teenager and Adult Zois appear more visually distinct from each other. ◆ Romantic Relationships with Everyone ️ A feature that was still in development at the time of early access release, Zois can now form romantic relationships with any other Zoi in the city. To enable this feature, go to the Create a Zoi screen and click the Change Gender Identity button to adjust your Zoi's settings. ◆ Sending the First Text ️ Player Zois can now start conversations via text message. While you won't be able to write custom messages, your Zoi can send texts to other Zois to make plans with them as their relationships grow. We hope to develop a feature someday that allows you to write your own messages as well. Quality-of-Life and Simulation Improvements ◆ UI Size Settings ️ In response to player feedback regarding UI visibility, we've added a setting with three different options that allows you to adjust the size of UI elements and text. ◆ Cheats ️ Cheats can now be used in-game. While the number of cheats currently available is somewhat limited, we will work to add more in future updates. ◆ Lifestyle-Based Changes to Body Weight and Muscle Mass ️ Zois will now undergo changes in physique based on their lifestyle choices, offering a more realistic and dynamic gameplay experience. Overeating will cause Zois to gain weight, and working out will cause them to build muscle. ◆ Exchanging Items ️ Zois can now exchange items with each other, opening the door for more interactions. You will be able to gift, give, or sell items from your Zoi's bag. New Items and Creative Tools ◆ Over 20 New Character Studio Assets Added ️ New items for character customization have been added, including highly requested additions to hair-related assets as well as new outfits and accessories. ◆ Over 100 New Furniture Items Added ️ More than 100 unique furniture items have been added, including items for kitchens, bedrooms, and babies. In addition to these features, we're also making overall improvements, both big and small, to sound settings, Canvas, animations, simulation, and other parts of the game. Our team remains committed to listening to your feedback and working to deliver a better game experience. We hope the upcoming June 13 update makes your experience with inZOI even more enjoyable. Thank you again for your continued interest and support. Thank you. - Kjun The devs also released the results of their AMA about modding. I haven't look through the whole thing yet, but here it is. I'll probably add some comments later. Quote inZOI ModKit AMA: Official Questions and Answers This post addresses key questions asked during the inZOI ModKit AMA. Hello, Creators. Thank you for sharing your questions and feedback during the inZOI ModKit AMA. Each submission has been carefully reviewed by our team, and we've decided to officially address a few of the most frequently asked questions. Q. Are there plans to improve how mods are presented and discovered in-game via the Mod Browser? For example, categories, tags, or creator pages? We’re open to improving the usability of the Mod Browser. Suggestions such as categories, tags, and creator-specific pages are actively under review, and we are preparing to implement community feedback swiftly. Q. Now that monetization is not allowed in Inzoi. What is the company planning for future coz let's be real this is a half baked game and if I am putting lot of effort for designing a mod that not only enhances the gameplay but also builds on it's core, I need to be compensated as well. Without the modding community I don't believe it can pull players into the game. To summarise I just want to know what kind of support is the company going to provide for modders in the future. inZOI’s modding policy does not permit direct monetization, such as paid mods or restricted access. This principle is intended to ensure that all players can enjoy content equally. However, we do recognize the time and effort involved in creating mods, and we are considering ways to support modders through indirect means. The following forms of monetization are currently allowed: - Ad revenue or donation requests on mod distribution platforms - Revenue from video content (e.g., tutorials or showcases) on platforms like YouTube These methods allow modders to receive support for their work while still offering their mods for free, and we encourage such approaches. Q. Will there be scripting mods for inzoi? Scripting mods for inZOI are currently in development and are planned to be included in the December update. We’re working to enable more flexible and expansive mod creation, so please stay tuned! Q. Are custom makeups and skin texture in the roadmap? I see the modkit for face will be in September. The ModKit to be released in June will not include dedicated features for customizing faces, makeup, or skin textures. However, creators familiar with the game’s data structure will be able to manually replace facial textures through data editing. A dedicated facial ModKit designed to make face modding more accessible is currently under development and is expected to be released after September. Q. Many of the most ambitious mods in the Sims require modification to the source code. For Inzoi, will you consider allowing modders to modify code to expand the creative range of mods outside what blueprints will provide? We are currently developing scripting support for inZOI that will allow for more creative and complex mod development. Our goal is to provide a flexible system that meets the needs of our community. Q. How much of the game will be moddable with the modding kit? From my understanding, you will release a sheet of the variables from the game which we can modify. In that sense, changing the game itself seems limited. Will we also be able to easily create interaction menus in the game and directly add for example new walk styles? As of now, locomotion (such as walking styles) can be modified based on emotional states. While general states are more difficult to change, emotional states and life stages can be replaced or expanded, which includes the ability to swap out walk styles. If you want to trigger specific behaviors in certain contexts, combining various buff states is one possible method. Additionally, scripting mod support is currently in development to further enhance customization possibilities. Q. Hi devs, thanks for your transparent communication on mod kit. Will we eventually be able to export Zois from the game into Blender as well or will only the import be allowed? Exporting user-created Zois as 3D asset files for Blender is not supported. However, the ModKit includes base Zoi body meshes and outfit samples, which can be used as references for creating custom clothing. Q. Is it only for modders or also beginners can create theirs own? The ModKit launching in June has been designed with user-friendliness in mind, including a Wizard feature that helps beginners create CC items like outfits and furniture with ease. inZOI will also provide sample data and official tutorials to support anyone interested in creating their own content. Q. You have mentioned that that you can make cc clothes with the modkit, will we be able to make our own jewellery from the start or will that be implemented in the future? Yes, you will be able to create not only jewelry but other accessories as well. We will continue to enhance related ModKit features for easier access, and tutorials will be provided in the future to help guide you through the process. Q. I wanted to share some ideas related to the ModKit and the upcoming in-game mod browser you mentioned in the May update. Since 3D modeling and rigging are already a part of the modding process, I was thinking—why not include a way to import poses and animations made from rigged 3D models? What do you think about adding a new mod category for “Poses”? This could include subcategories like Solo Poses, Group Poses, Animated Poses, and Action-related Poses. Currently, animation import is supported, and you can create rigged poses and animations using tools like Blender and apply them via data modding. We understand this can be challenging for beginners, so we are continually working to improve tutorials and guides to assist creators. Additionally, we are reviewing suggestions such as implementing categorized pose systems (e.g., solo, group, animated, or action-linked poses) and user-friendly features similar to a wizard. Q. Will the mod kit allow users to create Blender hair mods for Inzoi or will hair mods have to be created in Maya's XGen? Hair mods can be created using mesh card-based styles, which are commonly used in games. However, XGen Groom hair (typically used for cinematic rendering) is not supported at this time. Q. Inzoi support 8192px texture? There are no specific restrictions on using high-resolution textures such as 8192px. However, for performance and optimization reasons, we recommend using textures sized 2048x2048 (2K) or smaller whenever possible. Q. Would it be possible to control NPCs with script for tasks? For example, I'm designing plants for the garden. I'd like an NPC that controls the soil moisture via a script and waters the plants when needed. Will such scripts be possible? The game currently supports lightweight scripting functions that allow for some control over NPC behavior. However, since a "soil" object does not exist in the game at this time, the described functionality would need to be implemented using a workaround. Q. Will modders be allowed to offer their mods in the form of early access (like for 2–3 weeks)? A lot of time & money goes into making mods, so this will greatly help modders offset these development costs that occur when creating. Mods shared on official inZOI-supported platforms must be available to all users for free, and paywalled distribution of mods in the form of early access is not allowed. That said, we fully understand the time and effort involved in mod development. While early access is not allowed through our official platforms, alternative methods such as passive ads, donation requests, or monetized video content on platforms like YouTube may be used to support your work. Q. Hello, I am a 3D designer and I would like to know if it is going to be possible for me to create my accessories in Rhino and import it in your modkit to make it work in the game? Also how can we manage textures? Would it be necessary for me to create textures maps in blender or your modkit will facilitate this process? Thank you for your effort! Models created in Rhino and other 3D tools can be converted to FBX format and imported into the inZOI ModKit. You can create textures using professional software such as Blender or Photoshop. Please refer to the sample data included in the ModKit to ensure your assets follow the appropriate structure for inZOI. We recommend reviewing the official documentation for detailed workflows and important guidelines before starting your work. Q. Will it be possible to use cloth physics when creating outfits? Current game content does not have it enabled, but some existing mods do offer this option even if not 100% compatible due to limitations in modding tools. I am eager to explore the modkit to create clothes/hair and this option would really improve aesthetics for some garments eg: dresses, long coats, capes, hair etc. imho. Thank you Cloth physics is not currently supported in the ModKit Wizard. However, you can implement cloth and hair movement using Unreal Engine’s Cloth Simulation. For hair, rigid body simulation can be achieved using the DA_HairRigidBody system. Q. I don't know exactly where to put this, but can you allow us modders to categorize items? If we want to upload a self-made necklace from Blender now, we have to upload a whole "outfit preset". It would be so much easier if we could at least categorize it as jewelry/accessory etc. We completely understand your concern. We are planning to gradually introduce more detailed category options after the ModKit is released. Q. At present, I think it is strange that JSON support is from June, but InZOI's localization function is from December. Please tell me if December localization refers to ModKit localization or mod localization function. The localization feature coming in December refers to multilingual modding that allows the game language to be changed to languages not officially supported by inZOI’s 13-language set. In June, you’ll be able to edit names and descriptions of furniture in your preferred language when creating furniture mods. Q. I have questions about the Blender/Maya kits. Will avatar body types be shared (male, female, baby, teen)? If I create clothes or furniture mods, will my creator name be shown? For example, if a user named A uploads a mod, can user B re-upload it and claim it as their own (reposting/repacking)? Also, is it possible to upload mods privately, just for personal testing or solo use without making them publicly downloadable? ️ Avatar Body Types - The ModKit released in June includes sample body meshes for adult males, adult females, and children. ️ Mod Credits and Protection Against Reposting - Currently, the system does not automatically display creator names in mod files, so it’s not possible to fully prevent others from re-uploading and claiming ownership of your work. - However, we are actively exploring features to help address this issue. ️ Private Use of Mods - You can absolutely create and apply mods for personal use only via local storage. - Sharing your mods publicly is entirely optional. Q. Will it be possible to modify/access the post-process materials and post-process volumes? For example, to change the final render to a cel-shaded style or to add outlines to the meshes. At this time, modifying or accessing post-process materials and volumes is not supported. We anticipate these features may become available in future updates. Q. Will it be possible to add more vehicle-related mods? I’d also love to see more realistic driving mechanics. While vehicle appearances can currently be customized through the ModKit, functional modding such as driving mechanics is still under internal review. Q. Will inZOI support customizing gameplay, character animations, body shapes, text, voice, and relationship systems? At present, gameplay and some in-game text can be modified through data modding. Character animations, body types, voice lines, and relationship mechanics are not yet supported, but we plan to expand support for these features through future updates. Q. Are there plans to support mods that edit public spaces or other NPC households? Some areas currently lack stairs or editable shared lots. Currently, modding features related to city backgrounds or public zones are not officially supported. However, our development team is aware of the need for such functionality and is exploring possible technical solutions. Q. Will we be able to create scripts that change ZOI behaviors or object interactions? I’m especially interested in interacting with their thoughts or accessing APIs for that. Scripting mods are currently in development. In the meantime, the Data Editor allows for partial control over interaction elements. For example, you can modify dialogue choices and their outcomes to change gameplay flow. We plan to expand these capabilities further through future script modding support. Q. Can we upload mods that import models from other games to CurseForge? What about using them as references instead of direct imports? inZOI respects creative freedom above all when it comes to mod development. All rights and ownership of user-created mods belong to the original modder—not to inZOI. If your mod includes assets ported or inspired by other games, please exercise caution when sharing, as you are solely responsible for any Intellectual property-related issues that may arise. When uploading mods to platforms such as CurseForge, please note that moderation policies may apply. Depending on the platform’s guidelines, your mod may be restricted or removed. Q. Will you add a map editor like in Warcraft III so players can create full gameplay modes? With inZOI’s asset quality, I see great potential. Currently, modding is limited to certain features. That said, we are actively exploring broader expansion options and hope to offer a more open creative environment based on suggestions from our Creator community. Q. How open will inZOI become to mod developers in the future? Will the game be fully accessible in terms of resources and tools? We aim to provide as much access to game resources as possible, within the limits of copyright and security considerations. Our team is continuously reviewing ways to support creators in utilizing inZOI’s assets creatively and responsibly. Q. Does the ModKit support Chinese? How many languages are available? Will tutorials be available in Chinese as well? The ModKit is currently provided in English, but tutorial videos include Chinese subtitles. We plan to gradually expand support for additional languages, including Chinese. Q. Are there any plans to integrate with the Steam Workshop? It’s a very convenient platform for distributing and managing mods. There are currently no plans for Steam Workshop integration. However, we may consider it in the future depending on community demand and feasibility. Q. Will the ModKit or mods be optimized for low-end PCs? The ModKit itself is not specifically optimized for low-end PCs. However, creators can take optimization into account when designing mods, such as by adjusting resource sizes and settings accordingly. If you have any additional questions or suggestions regarding the inZOI ModKit, please let us know through our community channels. We will continue to work towards improving the overall gameplay experience based on your feedback. Thank you, The inZOI Team
RedMallie Posted June 9 Report Posted June 9 Thank you, @Klinn!!! One can almost picture those meetings between Kjun and the Dev Team. I imagine they must be trying to push Kjun to listen to the requests of players about Family and Relationship features. I am curious about how many requisites there were for a Zoi to be allowed to adopt before the decision was made to simplify it. Or how about having an in-vitro baby?! But just the fact that soon, a wild one-night stand can give your Zoi a baby makes it much more interesting.
Klinn Posted June 9 Author Report Posted June 9 I get the feeling that the devs are finally getting an idea of just how big a project a life sim can be, and how carefully the game's structure and components must be planned out. I hope the company survives and I look forward to inZOI Mk2 being much better. Edit: Don't get me wrong, I'll continue to play inZOI 1.0 but I suspect to fix some of its problems will require essentially an almost complete restructuring of the game. A new version incorporating lessons learned. inZOI 2.0

Firestaar1 Posted June 14 Report Posted June 14 My goodness that was a lot of reading. I'm a tad bummed that some of the things players were giving feedback on were not addressed, however, super excited they've finally released cheats and the cheats are actually quite numerous for being a first release!

Klinn Posted Friday at 01:04 PM Author Report Posted Friday at 01:04 PM . This isn't exactly a bug fix but rather a preview the devs released concerning the new 3rd world they're releasing in the August update. Quote Kjun's Letter: A Sneak Peek at Cahaya Introducing Cahaya, a resort-themed city coming to inZOI with the August update. Hello, Creators. Kjun here. We hope you're enjoying inZOI following the June update. We're aware that there's still plenty of room for improvement, which is why we're working hard to deliver a better experience for our players. Our team is hard at work preparing the next wave of content for the August update. We're especially excited for this update because it will be introducing a third city to the game. On that note, we'd like to announce some changes. The third city, formerly announced as Kucingku, has now been changed to Cahaya, a resort-themed destination where players can enjoy some rest and relaxation away from the bustle of city life. The word "Cahaya" means "light", and true to its name, the city offers a variety of vibrant and refreshing experiences across exotic islands that can't be found in previous cities, such as farming, relaxing, boating, and exploring uninhabited islands. We're working hard to make this update truly worth the wait. Cahaya is a city themed around "rest". While developing inZOI has been a source of great joy for me, there are times when I feel the urge to get away from it all. Inspired by these feelings, I wanted to create a retreat for players exhausted by the motions of everyday life to unwind in. There is one thing that we were unable to address in this update. We've received a great deal of feedback from players asking for improvements to the job system, but because Cahaya was designed as a resort-themed city, features like jobs and schools didn't quite feel like the right fit. As such, we've made the decision to exclude them from this city entirely. Players instead can enjoy a self-sufficient lifestyle through activities such as farming or fishing. Improvements to the job system will be coming with the next city update. In response to player feedback, we are also making improvements to make emotional expressions seem more natural, improve the relationship system, and add depth to interactions. We recently shared these details during a video call with our Partner Creators, who gave us a lot of valuable feedback. If you have any thoughts of your own, please don't hesitate to share them with us. I truly enjoy hearing from the community, and I'm always paying close attention to what our players have to say. Your feedback helps shape the future of inZOI. In addition, inZOI will be heading to Germany once again to participate in this year's gamescom, where the August update and Cahaya Free DLC will be officially revealed. Until then, we hope you continue to enjoy a wonderful time with inZOI. We hope this coming summer brings you nothing but joy and lasting memories. As always, thank you again for your continued support. Thank you. - Kjun Sounds like it will be an interesting change of pace from the first two towns.
Firestaar1 Posted Friday at 01:52 PM Report Posted Friday at 01:52 PM I'm really looking forward to this town, though I'm not sure how well me and my InZoi will work out in the whole self sufficiency thing
RedMallie Posted Friday at 03:07 PM Report Posted Friday at 03:07 PM Thank you, @Klinn I like the idea of having a different type of income source, and a city that may be less urban and hectic. But I agree with @Firestaar1 in that me and mi Zoi will have to catch up sooner rather than later in order to make sure they can survive the experience. Definitely making a standard Zoi to torture to practice with in the next weeks.

Far more than the typical careers in the game. Yes, you have to skill up your Zoi to level 10 of painting, but make it one of the Zoi's favorite things (they learn faster) and eat an Art Donut before embarking on a long creative session (extra 30% skill gain) and it doesn't take too long get them up there. Add 3 or 4 easels around the house and they can really crank out the product. One of my Zois made over 25,000 Mews in one day. Yes, I was being a harsh taskmaster and chained them to the easels. It's so profitable that I wouldn't be surprised if the devs nerfed the payout somewhat in a future update.
