  1. Oh geez, some people!  o.O  Well anyway, though I'm a bit late to the party so to speak, I kind of feel I have to speak up too just because:
Coolspear, you're awesome and I'm not sure I'd even be able to play this game without your mods - not only that, but you actually helped me get into a little bit of baby level modding which I'm enjoying a lot, so for both these things, thank you. Like so many others, I'm really grateful for this site and all who share their work here - and for free! (No seriously, how can anyone even complain about that? It boggles the mind)

    :graphics-thank-you-138157:

  2. Oh thank you Coolspear! You'd think that the endless paparazzi/fan hell would be enough of a drawback on celebrity status, but no - you have to roll the dice on these annoyances too, with any and all interactions you have your sim do. Ugh. With this I can finally say nope, away from my game. :loveshower:

  3. Actually Shonie, I think that particular Thrifty trait IS City Living - I recall being confused about that since there is another Thrifty trait (that might be basegame) as well. Not sure but removing it worked for me, and I still had the other thrifty trait accessible.
Well, it doesn't matter now if you're getting City Living, you'll have to go over the list and change what traits to keep anyway. I'll admit I felt so bad for you not getting it to work that I was this close to ripping through a file to see if I could help out. XD  Yeah, me - someone who definitely isn't a modder. Huh. I imagine I wouldn't be of much help. :sorry:

  4. I just wanted to say another thank you Coolspear. After the fiddling around with your "All traits in Reward Store" mod I actually got the courage to open up this one and have a look at it, because see, I've been wanting to create a really small wall decal or rug with a high room score for some time now and, well, your incense burner is as close as I've gotten to finding one (I've got incense burners everywhere now btw :thumbwinky: ). Partially for the reasons you've given for this mod, it isn't so nice when the decoration moodlet drops in between rooms just because there isn't room enough in the tiny hallway to decorate it more, but also because I'd like to be able to decorate my sims homes as much or little, and in what style I please, as I please - without having to stick to just the items with a high room score.

So. Had a look, found two values I figured I'd try, and made a tiny wall decal. It seems to work in-game, I sure hope I'm not messing anything up at least, and so I kind of got bit by the bug, so to speak. Now I've got little picture frame recolours, paintings and rugs as well. If this all works, well, me very happy. :whee:

  5. I'm very sorry for double-posting, can't figure out how to edit a previous post in any way and I thought maybe I should mention this on the topic of traits: While I don't THINK GPs add much in the way of traits usually, the Vampire game pack added "I am the Master", "Regained Humanity" and "A true Master" as reward traits. Might be of use for someone altering this file?

  6. I removed the Vegetarian trait despite not being sure exactly where it was from (I assumed it was from City Living though), because I've never encountered it in my game, not even as an option in debug. (food is all marked up whether it is vegetarian safe or not, though) So I'm afraid I can't really say if it would have worked to leave in.

And thank you so much for all the help, Coolspear. :)

  7. Thank you again Coolspear! I removed the City Living traits and taadaa, now the Reward Store appears and works (and actually, nice touch to remove the popup when you're "purchasing" traits, that can get a bit tedious when I add a bunch at a time). Haven't played the game, just checked to see that it worked, and all the added traits - parenthood traits as well - appeared in my sim's list just fine.

    Me is happy camper. :greenstars:

BTW, good idea to mention the traits in your post, I had a poke around to see what traits were attached to what EP when I started deleting, and well, checking online gives you weird results sometimes. I think Essence of Flavour and Fresh Chef got mentioned several times as belonging to. City Living, or something, but hey, I clearly remembered those as reward traits from my game, so. nope. Left those in, thankyou. :P

  8. Coolspear, you're awesome. :)  Not sure if above post is a reply to me or PiffyEQ, but here goes

I have S4S (Wishes, as well) and dabble with it a lot, though just for recolours and such. I have once poked about in a single mod, with the modder's permission, and got that to work (it was just removing a few options), but that is it for me. If you could give me instructions - simple, mind you, imagine speaking to a five-year-old, because I'm clueless to these things - I'd love to give them a try at least. I, too, would prefer to be able to use the Reward Store as opposed to the endless fiddling around with debug that I'm doing now (but if I can't get the free Retail Store perks mod to work, I think I'll go with your suggestion and use your non debug mod)

This probably doesn't matter in the slightest, but just to be sure - I checked exactly what EP/GP/SPs I have, and it is as follows:

EP: Get to Work, Get Together

GP: Parenthood, Vampires, Spa Day, Outdoor Retreat

SP (don't think they add anything to traits though): Vintage Glamour, Backyard, Kids, Spooky, Cool Kitchen, Perfect Patio, Luxury Party + the free Holiday stuff (don't judge, didn't mean to download that one XP)

  9. I'm afraid the same thing happened to me as to PiffyEQ, my Rewards Store ended up completely blank as well. Can't say for sure there isn't something interfering, but I did remove anything else I could come up with that had even a possibility of affecting traits (other than your mods), as well as running the Mod Conflict Detector (nothing), but that didn't help.
I only have Get to Work and Get Together out of the EPs however, and I'm missing a GP or so, so I guess that is it? I had hoped that it would just "blank out" the traits not in my game, but unfortunately not. Anyway, it is an awesome mod whether or not I can actually use it, I'm just writing this in case it is of some use to you to know that it might blank out the entire Rewards Store if you don't have all EPs or GPs. :smiletooth:

  10. Oh right, the napping - the vampire sim takes naps in the hot tub instead of using any of the coffins or beds, yeah. I had actually forgotten about that.

Either way, if you do end up making a second version of the mod I'll be sure to try it, but I'm also fine with just locking the door (that should do it, right? Haven't tried yet). Anyway, though I haven't commented on nearly enough of your mods I'd like to say a huge thank you Coolspear, by now I have an absurd ammount of your mods in my game, I just can't help myself - you fix every annoyance and make my game so much better. XD  So, a massive thank you from me for your mods in general

    . :yourockthumbsup:

  11. I, uh, have the same issue as wyrren actually. As much as I love this mod and is grateful for it (because oh imagine my disappointment when I got that gamepack solely for the tubs and the sims got nothing out of them and frankly wouldn't use them?), unless I'm on my sims all the time the commands I've given will just kind of drop out and the sim in question either goes for the hot tub or the bar (but now I've downloaded your stay-away-from-the-bar-moron mod so moahahaha). With vampires this is extra tricky, at least the ones that have superspeed, as they'll already be doing whatever by the time I'm desperately crossing things out of the action cue. And, well, I have TVs, computers, a gym, a sauna, that game station, chess, various instruments and easels, a swimmingpool, a dancefloor and a dj station. I'm not sure what fun levels these things have, but surely one at least should be attracting my sims? If nothing else, when they are in a flirty mood, shouldn't they rather continue flirting with their significant other than suddenly sprint for the tub?

  12. @aparkison  I had actually upgraded the fireplace to the max, so as far as I know it should have been fireproof? Didn't help any with the menace around.
Still, now that Coolspear has made the safe fireplace mod my butler has not had another fiery incident (yet, is there any other place in the house where she can set a fire?), and coupled with this mod she mostly just hangs around, staring at my sim couple when they're in bed, and just sort of talks to herself. I HAVE seen her go spray the plasma fruit tree once, though she does no other gardening, so at least there's that. (I found a use for her though, as ironically the newest - and last - toddler is clingy, which in my game means more self-sufficient than her sisters and gets by without her parents attention most of the time, well, she can interact with the butler instead when the others are busy, or make the butler feed her. That works)

One thing though. While the maid was there one day and the sister-in-law (big mistake. BIG MISTAKE!) was visiting to get to know her nieces I had a bit much going on with my sim family and kind of lost track of where sim mom went to. Surprise surprise, she went and spontaneously fired the butler. O.O  I didn't know they could do that on their own?

(Ah and I went through CAS with that butler. Before CAS she was a dark brown with long brown hair. In CAS, before I did anything to her, she was purple with short black hair. Hmm?) And now I'll try not to clutter up this thread more with my useless butler, sorry about that. The mods work perfectly so far in my game Coolspear, you are a lifesaver! (literally in my little sims case ;) )

Alcohol and fire are a real explosive mix, so that's just as well. Though your butler seems to be doing fine with the flames without much fuel. :giggle2:

Feed the butler to the vamps, that's what say! Best way to tell the butler they suck, with a vamp sucking them dry.

So very, very tempting. I am considering using moveobjects to stick some lights into the fireplace (I assume she's doing something to the fireplace to set fire to the, well, place) to block any usage while still giving off light. It is still a bit sad though. Oh and in all of this I discovered that 1, traits are a lie (my sims have the naturalist trait that should prevent fires in their home, but that does absolutely nothing against a pyromaniac butler), and 2, fire alarms are fairly useless. The very first fire this hazard set even gave off the message that a fire had started next door and my sims should remain inside to stay safe. NO! The fire was in the next room! The game clearly has it out for this little sim family. XP

Lol sounds like it's time to get a new butler. I don't have any mods that effect my butler and mine just cleans, takes care of the garden, interacts with the household or just stands around. Of course, I did take her into CAS and change her personality traits when I first hired her. Otherwise she would probably be robbing me blind.

Oh you can do that? Give her a makeover in CAS? I didn't dare try before, though I wanted to just to get her to be a bit more inclined to actually clean . Which she doesn't, really. (nor does she garden, and I dare not have her interact with anyone, not that she tries, since my sims roll random whoohoo wants with her for no reason) What she DOES like to do is stand in front of the stove poking at the counters whenever my sims are sent to cook, or randomly come into the master bedroom to stare at the bed when my sims are in it attempting to whoohoo. Yes, it is amazing that they did manage to get two toddlers at all with this menace around.

I'll give the CAS makeover a go though and see how that works out. Thank you for the suggestion. :)

I'll be looking into the Butler Role XML soon. Stripping out most pushes for silliness and injecting stuff from other Roles, making the butlers something special perhaps. Certainly less of a pain in the butt-ler. :giggle2:

You sir, are a hero for certain. The insane woman burned down the livingroom again, this time (I had already removed curtains and carpets because of her, but I did not realize the TV and ceiling lights were flammable) during the baby's aging up to toddler, so. not only did the daddy sim pick up the other toddler to run out of the house and stand in the road, refusing to go back in until the toddler desperately needed sleep, the younger tot grew up massively sad and was extremely hard to comfort back to a non-sad state. Why thank you, useless butler sim. If I could I would have thrown her on the fire as well. -.-

(Oh, but she hasn't touched the globe bar - whooo. She's not an alchoholic anymore, just a pyromaniac)

  15. Oh lordy, the butler was driving me nuts with this one - the darn woman did nothing but drink all day and scatter empty glasses all over my sims lot (and occasionally start fires), never once picking up after herself. Finally I can actually put the globe back in without having to chase the butler around to see where she puts these things.

That said. I've actually had to make my sims hire a daily maid to pick up after the butler. O.o  My sims pick up after themselves, the butler does not - I'd toss her out and never play a butler again, but I so wanted my fancy mansion sims to have their own butler. Alas, I'm not seeing any reason to keep her much longer. :P
