Hey coolguy:  Do you know if doing a game repair through Origin will change this back to the EA cfg file? The reason I ask is that after doing an origin game repair I noticed my awful green plumbob came back. (I hate that bloody thing.) So then I have to go deep into pc files and edit the code that makes the plumbob invisible but leaves everything else in the game alone. Any thoughts from you?

I believe that has always been the case, seems even with Sims 2 and 3 when modded.  I always pull the good (modded) .cfg out when I do anything like that, then just replace it after. The point of the repair, I'd guess, is to restore all of the original files to the game.

  2. Anthem isn't my style as far as content/game play.  I'm just more into using magic or swords than guns, but I have been watching my favorite DA and MA duo as they play the game.  Codex Added has a great podcast discussing Bioware games and they have been streaming the game since the first early access, pre-release. I see hints of the Bioware I know in it but so far not the story content (and no romances :crying:) that makes it more immersive. One of them has played it all the way thru and he says it does get there so we shall see.  Personally, I wouldn't buy the game, but I hope it does well for DA's sake.

  3. Saved the day!  I seem to have taken a detour into Dragon Age games for awhile, I still was keeping track of Sims updates, expansions, ect and had removed my mods to update as I got new packs.  Somewhere along the way I must have deleted the folder I had put them all in and am having to start from scratch again. I was having a senior moment trying to remember how to even set up my mods folder and remembered that you had offered this to us.  Yea!  Thank You! :cheerleader_2:

Fist of all, thanks for all your hard work with all your mods.
Since the last patch  the mod doesn´t seem to work anymore. Before the patch, I had 2 toddlers, and everything was perfect. The adults left them alone, unless I wanted it differently. After the last patch my Sim got pregnant again, got 3 toddlers. And now the adults are constantly checking the toddlers again. They are not interested in anything else. I had to turn off free will.

After patches I always start a new game, new sim families, new save and play that until my favorite modders have had a chance to work their magic.  I find I make new sim friends that become families I use in my main game.  Just an idea to pass the time.  :EVEDA2-14:

  5. I actually think this is all my fault, not Coolspear's, not even stupid Maxis. I grabbed this with the intent of going straight in game and adding the venue.  I got sidetracked with a toddler and spaced it out.  How can a mod call something if it isn't there to call?  It didn't dawn on me until I got up this morning and came to see if I could delete the post.  I truly apologize for my stupidity.  " I think some time away from the insanity of modding will do you a world of good. It's no fun having a hobby that makes you want to tear your hair out and defeats the purpose entirely. "   Absolutely agree, especially when modders have to deal with stupid old ladies like me.

Hi @deffrollaThe most common response to the gag is folks look a little confused at your statement, then they say what they're thinking -  "There is no F in Way?" - And that's the answer.  Say that in your head, or out load, a few times and it begins to sound like something else. "There is no F in Way, you'll get an elephant into a shopping trolley."

An old joke, that seems to have died a death like the aforementioned Safeways.  :bwahahaha:

Have to laugh at that as I worked for Safeway here in the states for almost twenty years.until my store got sold in the buyout three years ago.

Now on to the business at hand.  Yeah Origin for the sale!  Got the GT, Spa Day, Movie night bundle yesterday, so I promptly came and got the updated GT mods.  Today I started playing and game started throwing errors right and left then froze up.  I went on Discord MCCC channel with the last exception report because it was really long and I had no clue what it was about.  Here is what was said about it: EGwarhammer - Today at 5:43 PM
this is the main error, and the only things i know of that use bucks (there may be more) are clubs and the ownable businesses.
Exception while updating the sim filter service. (AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'associated_bucks_type'

So pulled both mods (no auto cry in closet, ect was the other)  played a bit with no problems and put this one back in.  Blammo, errors.  I don't know if the exception report helps you at all but will attach anyway, just in case.

I haven't even added any venues into the tester world to try anything out yet, so hadn't even been in a club to harass a DJ. :tongue2:   Just a heads up for you to ponder while you are having an otherwise quiet evening sometime.  It could very well be something in my game, or maybe not yet in it, causing issues?

  7. Follow up.  I have two families in this tester hood.  I was not playing the family that decided to give birth first and that birth actually went well.  I quickly popped over there to make sure there was actually a baby, there was.  While I was training up the toddler the other family went into labor and that one threw the error.  I had just done a save a few minutes prior so quit and started in the second house and again the error.

All this leads me to believe you are on the right track when you bring up the traits and EP's and actually makes me wonder if I know what this mod is actually supposed to look like in game. :D I think maybe it just never has really worked in my particular game and I just didn't know it because your other trait mods allowed me to look at things as well.  I'll give it a go when I am able to get GT and see what happens, but thought I would just give you a follow up.

  8. Your posit in the edit may well be the issue, Coolspear. That would make sense since you aren't seeing anyone else with issues.  With the release of DnC's I am again behind two EP's.  I hope to get GT next, so we will see.  I've never had any aliens (to my knowledge) in game. :D   I will put the temp version in and see if that makes a difference when next I have a baby coming.  As far as I could tell the only issue was with the birthing , so should not be a problem just dropping it in. Might be a few game days as both households just had a child before I have a result for you.

  9. Just an FYI.  I had the baby naming issue mentioned above early on and had just removed the mod since it seemed to be fixed for everyone else.  I apparently thought I still had it and got the updated version and kaboom, same error problems.  Now my memory was jogged that I had problems before but didn't remember which mod or whose it was.  Long story short, it's this one.  Here is the error log in case you have a curiosity.  :D

  10. I started on new and clean "test" world last night so I could get a clean run to see how mods and such are working together now.  I know of at least one, not of yours, that said it had been updated but the kid still turned into a bear in my last "test world".  Ever since I was introduced to my first UI mod in one of the first games I played, I've never spent much time in  a vanilla game before I go searching for mods. :D  I have a healthy respect for all modders in all games I play and wish studios paid more attention to the work their fans do that ultimately puts money in the studio's pockets.

When I fist loaded 1.36, without any mods or CC, all I did was try to keep Sims from bottoming out their needs from the time they went to bed, but didn't stay there, till the time they made it thru the next day. I had loaded a couple of families with either a kid or one on the way.  YIKES!  LOL  Then I played LOTRO for a day until some mods were starting to come back online. Still working through my CC and batch fixes, slowly but surely.
