Thank you, coolspear and LuvMySimz for your responses.  

To answer coolspear's questions:

1. I am unable to live drag  the items, whether in home lot or community lots.  I always have to use "place in world" and "put in inventory" options to take it out of personal inventory and put it back in.  This is true for me for all the storage boxes.  It doesn't bother me.  Once I understood how that works it was fine.
2. I have stacked the personal storages and had no problem.  However, I stacked different colors/patterns.  So not identical.
3. When I ran into this problem with the fresh fish box, I had 3 blue ones.  I first had 1 only.  When it was all full, I bought 2 more and stacked them.  That's when I ran into problem.  I first ran into this issue in Sylvan Glades.  However, when I returned to home lot and tried it again, it was the same issue.

I ended up deleting the entire stack (I wasn't able to get rid of individual ones), along with all the fish inside.  Now I have 3 fish boxes for all different colors, and that seemed to work.  Thanks!

BTW - amazing mods you have here.  Thank you so much for all your wonderful work.

Are you supposed to be able to have more than 1 of these boxes in a single sim's inventory?  I purchased 3 of these boxes and put them into my sim's inventory.  The 3 boxes are stacked as expected.  However, I am now unable to put them back into the world.  When I do "Place in world", the animation happens, but the box stays in the sim's inventory and all my contents are stuck inside the box.
