POSTING RULES

This is a relaxed forum and not heavily moderated. There may be adult language and content within reason. I'd like to keep this forum enjoyable and welcoming. To help me maintain that atmosphere, here's a few rules to follow:

*Use punctuation at the end of each sentence. Trying to decipher what you are saying by reading a continuation of words with no punctuation is difficult and annoying. Using ellipses (.) instead of periods will annoy Twoftmama. Don't annoy Twoftmama. She will flay you with her whip.

*Use formatting in moderation. Posts found to be difficult to read or distracting will be edited or deleted. This includes highlighting text, overly large text, overly small text, colored text, and writing in all bold. While perfection is not asked for legibility is. Moderation is key, this includes excessive use of emoticons.

*Do not use net or text speak, only use real words. For example u and ur are not words. This forum has members all over the globe, many of whom are not native English speakers. Text and net speak do not translate.

* No spamming, flaming, personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, slurs, or racism, by PM, Email, or Post. This will not be tolerated and you will be warned once. Second offense results in an automatic, immediate, and permanent ban.

*Do not create drama. If you have a problem with another member, handle it in PM with that member and a moderator.

*Do not discuss the drama from other forums here. If you have an issue with another forum or its members you should post said issue at that site.

*Do not double post. You do not break this rule if a few hours have passed, but double posting within minutes or simply to thread bump is not acceptable. Edit your post and add to it. If you need to reply to multiple posts use the MultiQuote function which is explained HERE.

*Do not quote if you are replying to the post directly above yours, it only clutters up the thread and makes them more difficult to read.

*When responding to an ongoing conversation in a thread do not quote the entire conversation, snip the quote to include only the last response from the other person.

*Do not edit your post after someone has already replied to you.

*Do not upload non sim related pictures. You must link to non Sim related pictures via your own image host site like Photobucket. This rule means that pictures cannot be uploaded at all in the Insane Ramblings or UnSimlike Insanity forums.

*Links in status updates are not allowed.

*Do not post links to pay sites. Links to pay sites are only permitted when the content is ALWAYS free. If you share a sim or house that includes cc from a pay site, list the site, creator and object name so that a member can easily find it with google.

* Discussion of, uploading or linking to illegally obtained software and goods is not permitted.

*No thread bumping. Old thread may only be revived if you have something constructive to add. It is not thread bumping to comment on an old story or creation to express thanks or interest.

*Clothing and object requests are not accepted.

*Do not post that a mod is/seems to be working before the creator has a chance to check the code.

*Do not ask if/when a mod will be updated. Our modders are required to update for every patch. Each of our creators has a thread for each patch which clearly states which mods need updates and when they are updated.

*Please read our CC and Picture Sharing Policy before sharing your creations here.

These guidelines will be adjusted as needed.

Where does my post go? or Where should I post this?

To help folks know where to post, and so the moderators and I don't have to move stuff around and confuse you, here's an explanation of what goes in each section.

Updates, News, and Site Guidelines - The place for me or the moderators to post important information about the Asylum that you need to know. This is the home of the site rules, and anytime I need y'all's opinion I'll ask here.

Forum Support - The place to ask questions or report bugs/issues related to the forum. If it is a question about rules or policies here at the Asylum, it goes here. If it is a question about how to do something on the Asylum, (How do I underline text? for example), it goes here. If you find a bug, or have trouble getting something at the Asylum to work, it goes here.

- Guests - The place for people who are not members to find information on how to be come a member.
- Who Am I? - The place for introduction threads.
- Insane Ramblings - The place for anything not relating to Sims or gaming. Wanna post about your Grandma? It goes here.
- Happy Bornday - The place to celebrate member birthdays. I make a thread for each members birthday so everyone can say Happy Birthday and send good wishes.
- Mischievous Machinery - The place for computer questions. Want to know how to clear your browser cache? Want some opinions on how much RAM you need? It goes here. *Note: Mischievous Machinery is not for Sims related questions. If you have a question about game settings, weirdness, or anything else related to The Sims, it goes in the Help Section for that particular Sims series.
-Unsimlike Insanity - The place for anything related to gaming that's NOT Sims related. Want to show off your Mage from Aion? Want to talk about the latest console game? It goes here.
- Sims Community News - The place for news about other Sims sites. Is a site you frequent having a contest? Is a site you frequent closing? It goes here. *Note: This is not the place to gossip about or trash other sites. We do not do that at the Asylum.
- Sim For All - The place for stories or pictures from your Sims game.
- Self Sim - The place to share the Sims version of you. *Note: If you aren't sharing the sim and just want to show it off, please put the picture in Sim For All.
- TS3 Help and Support - The place to get help with your TS3 game. Have a game glitch? Need to know how to do something? It goes here. *Note: Questions relating to how to make or modify a mod do not go here.
- TS3 How To Guides and Tips - The place to post tutorials or tips for TS3.
- TS3 CAW Help, How To's, And Tips - The place to get help with, or to offer tips for TS3 Create a World.
