  1. Thank you, thank you so much!

I messed about this over the course of a week awhile back, and couldn't for the life of me to get anything I tried to fix the problem! I finally resorted to blacklisting items for the towel outfit with MC Dresser. Not the ideal solution by far.

I swear to all that is holy that I do not understand how Maxis keeps breaking outfits. I think someone's got to be either A)doing it on purpose or B) tinkering around with something related and breaking outfits in the process.

    It simply boggles my mind!

  2. Your comment about Sims drinking at the game tables explains the folks I've seen saying Sims are trying to drink something invisible at the game tables. I only have one household with a game table and I haven't played them in a long time, nor I have played my club that has cards as a club rule, so that's probably why I haven't seen it.

The last LE I had was quite awhile ago and it was a spammer. OMG. It was so annoying. It was an error in the careers from City Living where if you sent a Sim to work and chose for them to Make Connections and then went to save your game or save and quit, it would spam the LE over and over again. I have no idea if Maxis ever fixed that. And that was a year ago. If I've had any since then they weren't bad enough to stick in my mind like that did. Needless to say, I haven't sent a Sim in one of those careers to work since.

I love my game, but sometimes the asinine errors like the game table and my experience with the City Living careers are more than a bit frustrating.

  3. The vampire I made over spawned as a Grand Master Vampire (I though the game only generated low-level vampires, but it appears otherwise) that's a vegetarian, a snob, and a music lover and has the withered stomach weakness. I forget her other powers and weaknesses now. I haven't hardly played at all lately, because I've been too irritated over Maxis and their patch that's not a patch because it breaks more than it fixes.

I'm pretty sure Lilith Vatore has the withered stomach weakness, but that she also has the aspiration that pushes vampires not to drink from humans. It seems like I've seen players complaining about Lilith drinking from humans, when her personality and aspiration is supposed to lend her to do otherwise.

I hate conflicts like that. Something about that just annoys me.

I guess I'm not overly fond of all this powers and weaknesses business, but then I'm not one play to with occults outside of witches, so this is a bit of a novelty for me playing with this vampire.

  4. That would be great if you could do that for the vegetarian vampires! Maxis just kills me sometimes with their piss-poor by design excuses. Would it be possible to also edit it for good vampires that are doing the aspiration that encourages them not to drink from humans?

My vegetarian vampire is actually a Townie vampire I fell in love with and gave a makeover. I normally don't play vampires, but I really liked this one and I hate how Maxis and their poor decision-making skills conflicts with trying to tell a story.

I didn't play with vampires really either in Sims 3, but I don't seem to remember there being a problem when they ate something like plasmafruit pancakes. I'm guessing this is all tied into the powers and weaknesses added in Sims 4 (a very cool idea, but not so greatly executed).

  5. Thank you! Especially for the ban on humans eating it (I mean, why Maxis? Just why would you let human Sims eat this stuff?).

One question though, do you think it's possible to edit the plasmafruit salad somehow though so vampires with the Withered Stomach weakness can still eat it? Maxis says it's by design that they can't without getting sick, but I have a vegetarian vampire in my game who's also a good vampire. I guess Maxis didn't take into account allowing vampires being vegetarians.

  6. @MaiaMadness I've had a Level 1 cooking Sim recently make tea on a new tea machine with no upgrades and it was excellent. I haven't seen Poor quality tea in my game since I was able to put Coolspear's food mods back in. I only ever see Poor quality when I'm playing without them, because it's a long-standing game bug that can happen even with high skills and upgraded machines.

@coolspear I'm pretty sure I saw SimGuru Nick confirm the apartment bug as being on their end over on his Twitter feed. I'm also waiting to patch myself, because I fear this could be one of those Legacy bugs that can't be fixed once it happens in an existing save. I don't know if you knew this one, but Maxis also broke books for folks who don't own Get To Work, since somehow when fixing a bug with books and retail, they managed to break all the books in the game for reading if you don't own the Expansion. So, I'm assuming they'll have to be getting some sort of hotfix together soon for both those bugs.

Good question. Where I know this mods kills the autonomous use of barbeques at home, its effect on those world lots is still up for questioning. From my own experience building this mod and testing its overall effects, I can say the public grilling areas were also shut down. Like you, I know just how much of a pain those areas can be.

For a long while, thanks to the debug delete option available, (MCCC or weerbesu)  I've been deleting a great many things from those world lots I cannot stand. Too many fecking grills being one of them. But the few that do remain in my world, this mod seems to stop all the fricken stupid, unwanted grilling as well. So, yeah, your question is a valid thing on my mind, too. And I'm confident this mod covers it.  In my game it seems to have died off. (As it should) But, of course, feedback from users will confirm the true, world status.

One night I actually got so mad that I did shift-click and destroy the grills and picnic tables in one of the public areas. I just got so mad, because Sims would not stop grilling, but then I was afraid I might have broken something, so I quit without saving. :hehehe:

I've been using the autonomy scan function that's part of MC Command Center now to turn autonomy off on the fly, which is quite nice, but I was just curious what your experience was testing this mod with the autonomy turned off for grills.

I think I'll try turning it off and see what happens. I've been toying with the idea lately since Bienchen's mod is broken, but I just hate seeing Sims I create stand around like zombies since they can't grill. So we'll see. I already turned autonomy off on some of the other small appliances because of the flagrant abuse on community lots by NPCs. This is why I play with autonomy off for my active household, because I love my Sims, but they're just not really very smart when left to their own devices.

  8. I see the barbecue grills listed and I'm curious if you've seen how Sims behave with them in the public areas using this mod. I hate those damn public grills. It's insane the amount of food that Sims cook and that never gets eaten. I'm constantly shift-clicking and destroying multiple platters of food.

Bienchen had a mod that stopped the NPC grilling on public areas, but it stopped working for me quite some time ago. The only thing I didn't like about it was those Sims would then just stand around doing absolutely nothing since they weren't grilling. That's why I ask if you've seen how Sims in that role behave with autonomy on grills turned off.

Excessive grilling is another one of the those small but crazily annoying things that Sims do that I'm not sure even Maxis knows how to tone down properly, since it's been that way for as long as I can remember.

  9. It could be related now that you mention it, the business with the LE's and Apple Cider. The Cats and Dogs cider is one of the market stall drinks in Brindleton Bay that came with the new seafood offerings. It's available all the time on the tea machines though, rather than being one of those things you have to consume first to learn how to make.

It's in a different cup though from the regular tea: sort of a sea green mug.

I like the drink trays idea, but there's something sort of soothing in the daily routine of my Sims making coffee and tea. That probably sounds crazy, but I'm one of those sorts of players that enjoys playing a really realistic game. And it's just frustrating that Maxis hasn't done something about the poor quality drinks. I clicked "Me Too" on thread some time ago for the bug report, but it's one of those that doesn't have too many responses (and one of them Crinrict seemed skeptical about, because she couldn't reproduce it, if I remember correctly).

So, maybe there's some connection between the fountain cider and the tea machine version. I wouldn't be surprised. No hurry though, just something I thought I'd mention for down the road.

  10. I don't know if you've ever heard of the modder Bienchen, but she had a restaurant sit tweak mod I was using, but it's not working right for me any more.

This is my first time really playing with restaurants since the patch meltdown in November, and at least on the management side, Sims were just sitting and staring and not eating their food with her mod in. I took her mod out and now they're eating and doing other things, but unfortunately they're doing too many other things besides enjoying their meal. I don't mind if they play games or darts, because that's a good bit of realism, but they need to sit where they're supposed to when they eat their meals.

I put a stop to the dancing and jogging nonsense by turning autonomy off with MC, so at least I can say my employees do work, and my customers aren't running off or dancing all the time.  I know Bienchen updated her mod in November, but something must have broken it since then. Unfortunately, right now she's on an indefinite hiatus from the game for real life reasons.

Anyway. I can imagine if you made a restaurant mod of some sort, I have no doubt at all it would be awesome.

As for the dance parties, I have only sent a Sim once right after getting GT, and I was so underwhelmed by the experience, I never sent a Sim again. Your mods sound great! I love the island of Windenburg the best of all when it comes to that world, because I'm not much on Tudor architecture. But the island is great. I love the look of it and the ruins. It's so well done. It's one of my favorite places to play in Sims 4. All the time dance parties would be so neat.
