    Updated Original Mod:
    Coolspear's Reworked Gym Equipment

    New Versions:
Coolspear's Reworked Gym Equipment With No Auto Push The Limits and Workout Intervention Buffs - 2 Days - MILITARY EDITION
Coolspear's Reworked Gym Equipment With No Auto Push The Limits and Workout Intervention Buffs - 1 Day - MILITARY EDITION

    NOTES:

Updated the original mod to work with the latest patch.

    MILITARY EDITION:

A variant of the original mod includes the interactions that the soldiers perform as part of their tasks for their careers in the Military.

I encountered a problem awhile back when my soldiers weren't completing their daily tasks and looked into Cool's original mod to see that EA did not set the bits properly for the daily tasks to complete.

All of the interactions listed inside the mod had an adjustment to allow the soldiers to complete their tasks almost quickly. I added the interactions related to marching, jogging and sparring to this mod because they are physical activities. So why not?

I inserted the workout buff into the sparring interaction done on the training bot(s), (the one(s) from the Strangerville pack), because I could not find the line that caused my Athletic sim to autonomously spar on the training bot almost constantly. I tested the buff inserted into the spar interaction to use on the bot. It seemed to work pretty well preventing my Athletic sim from using the training bot until her workout buff faded.

There are two Military Editions to choose from:

    MILITARY EDITION: 2 days
    MILITARY EDITION: 1 day

The difference is in the length of time for the buff to last until the sims can use the equipment again. The real military doesn't take 2 days off from their PT schedules.

    INSTALL NOTES:

Choose only -ONE- mod from this zip to suit your tastes.

Please comment in Cool's original thread for the Reworkd Gym Equipment please. Thanks!

The original description for the Military version of the mod still applies. BUT I only updated one of the two mods unfortunately and forgot about the 2-day buff version. The 1-day buff version is updated for Country Living and needed no further updating for Refresh Spa Day or Game Version 1.80.69.1030.

If anyone wants the 2-day buff version, comment and I might consider it unless Coolspear, our benevolent creator, wants to take up the mod again which I will be happy to see being resumed.

I liked this mod because it made sense to stop using gym equipment and not using them again and again. The 1-day buff is 24 Sim hours I think. The 2-day buff is twice as long.

Many thanks to @coolspearfor everything he did. I am pleasantly surprised to see his return to modding. YAYYYYY!!

  2. I took a look into these mods to see if they needed updating.

Good news. These mods do not need updating and are safe to use with the latest game version: 1.65.x

Read the description in the first post carefully about what these things do. Install only one version into the Overrides folder you make in the Mods folder:

    Windows 10 or similar:

    C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\Overrides

  3. Updated:
Coolspear's Reworked Motion Gaming with Shorter Sessions and Longer Game Buffs Plus Weatherproof

    What's New:

Fame was added to the motion gaming mat so that Sim players can gain Fame when they play the games.

    Install Notes:
Can go into a subfolder in Mods.

    Note:
Updated for the latest Game Version: 1.65.70.1020

Description is in the first post of this thread.

  4. I didn't consider the Rock Climbing Wall! Probably why I didn't because I sent my Sim with an Athletic aspiration to the gym. No one touched it. Not even my Sim.

The marching is hilarious! My two Sims marched all over the neighborhood, their faces so damn serious and focused on . well marching!

This bot from the Strangerville pack had almost nothing that I could edit. I went back to locating the interaction I saw my Military sims do autonomously. Took a while too because there were just a lot of military-related items. Inserting a buff isn't a bad idea. I don't mind my Sims getting their exercise once in awhile.

But that bot had to be dealt with. It was taunting my active Sims!

"C'mon. I know you can't hit me harder than my grandma! Chicken!"

  6. Thank you for helping us get these updated mods out to everyone. I do want to know what mods other fans updated so we don't accidently upload the same thing to the same thread. :)

I'm also out for a bit to recover from my illness. Which is why I haven't checked in until today. Still working on the military edition. I got the mod updated, but I wanted to finish the military edition first and offer people a choice.

I might tap on your shoulder later, @coolspear

  7. @coolspear I haven't thought about that direction. I would love to look at that in the other mods doing the turn on/off function. For now, I'm hoping to get the military edition done and then poke you for the pointer in the right direction. This is the only thing I'm interested in because it has the potential for both buffs and on/off switches to work together. Tomorrow, I plan to do just that. :) I also retired from modding, but I wouldn't mind updating some of your mods that I love to use too.

  8. I already updated this mod, but I am working on a version with the MILITARYEDITION tacked on at the end because I have a couple of Sims in the Military career that uses the gym equipment as well as activities like Marching Around, Go Jogging, Sparring. As my Sims progress through their careers, I will see if the interactions need to be tweaked as far as exercise goes. This one will have the tweaks for the Military daily tasks. In an unmodded game, the Military Sims take a long time to progress through their daily tasks when they exercise. This one will probably have a shorter buff because after all, the military is always working hard to stay in shape 24/7.

It will be 2-3 days before I can upload the updated mod and the military version. I wanted to be 100% sure both mods work as far as custom buffs (Cool's awesome buffs) are concerned. :)

  9. Updated for Game version: 1.63.136.1010

The zip contains the mods from the original post on the first page of this thread. You will notice that the mods have -Test. These are the ones I'm testing after I updated them. I am not 100% sure if the buffs work. Please comment here if they work or break, and if they break, describe what you saw in game.

Also, they do conflict with LittleMsSam's toddler tweaks. Keep that in mind. :)

  10. Another brilliant idea is to download Sims 4 Studio from a reputable source. Here are the following steps:

    1. Download Sims 4 Studio.

    2. Open the program.

    3. Click on any mod you want to open with Sims 4 Studio.

    4. Make changes.

    5. Save.

    Voila!

I'm not sorry if I have to say something. People coming here to ask questions whether these wonderful mods are updated/working need to know 2 things:

    1. Retired modders will NOT update their mods. Why? Because they are officially done spending hours of tears and blood to create and maintain many, many mods for other people's enjoyment.

    2. Patches will always break mods in some way. We all accepted this as the norm for EA/Maxis having this odd habit breaking sh*t over and over.

If any of you want to use these mods from Coolspear, you update them yourself for your use. Have some respect for our retired creators. I set my foot down long ago that I was done with modding. I see people out there using some version of my old mods for Sims 2, 3 and 4. I'm happy for them wanting to continue using the things I made for them.

In short, please give our longtime resident/retired creator the chance to enjoy his golden years. And get him a nice, cold beer to enjoy.

  11. @coolspear, because I tried to bring up the menu on the cauldron (both cheap and expensive) to cook something, but all I saw food-related was Cook Mac&Cheese. LittleMsSam's Herbalism Potions showed up just fine and the RoM potions menu showed up fine. I am wondering if the Sim needs the Cooking skill to be able to cook food from the cauldron? This is the last resort to check.

  12. My dad probably would make friends with your grandfather if they met. Mine served in the U.S. Army during both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Putting a price on those medals might have felt wrong, but if they were to be used for a museum, I'd use that logic too.

I like this mod so I will grab it for my military Sims. A museum lot would be great if we had a better one. Your work on most of those commercial lots is awesome, more awesome than Maxis' shoddy work on their lots.

  13. Dang. My Sims probably will build a statue of you somewhere in the neighborhood without me looking! This one looks very awesome! Had a touch of Harry Potter there with the alley looking almost like the one in the first movie.
