  1. I just bought Get Famous yesterday, on a 50% off sale, and I'm thrilled to see that clever and reliable Coolspear is here to make the pack more fun.  Thank you SO much for everything you do!!! :loveshower:  :62:

I had gone back to playing The Sims 2 for several months -- two because three takes so long to load -- and while I like it better in many ways (the gameplay is not as dumbed down as in four), the aspirations are annoyingly one-note.  My Knowledge sims only want to gain skill points.  My Popularity sims only want to make friends.  Gee, guys, wouldn't it be a more interesting life if we learned things AND made friends?

The Sims 4 has a lot going for it in some ways, but it's so very dumbed down in other ways.  I should probably learn how to mod TS2 heavily.  If I could make a Well-Rounded Aspiration, where people wanted a little bit of everything, that might make me switch to TS2 for good.

Anyway, playing my new pack for now, so thanks much!

Hey, what do your reckon on our new, young Mr. Spock?

No one will ever replace Leonard NImoy's Spock in my heart, but I think Ethan Peck is doing an excellent job with what they're giving him to play.  Discovery's Spock is only about 25, so he still has some growing up to do, and given that the Red Angel basically scrambled his brain, it makes sense that he's a bit unsettled and not like the Spock we know from ten years later.  I liked the conversation between Spock and Burnham in the gym in "Red Angel;" I loved it that he'd come to try to comfort her, in a clumsy Vulcan way.  Peck has a great voice for the role, and that really helps me accept him in the part.

What do you think of him?

  3. Nifty!  The Sims 4 worlds are mostly so small that I love the idea of having lots that serve many functions.  I might investigate how you've made this and see if I can make a MultiPark an art museum as well, since I often make arty sims.

Does visiting a MultiPark lot satisfy the wish to visit a library?

  4. I have the original files from January of 2017, since I used to make mods without Sims 4 Studio, so I extracted the xml's and put them in a separate folder.  I can confirm that the decay rate was set to zero in the original files, before the Cats & Dogs patch.  So whatever made the Vamps energy fail to decline, it wasn't a change in that file.

Of course, that doesn't mean that you can't FIX it by changing that file. :-)

  5. Yay!  It takes the sims half an hour just to walk from one ROOM to the next, so I rarely have them wander around outside much.  Teleportation will be lovely.

I made teleportation scrolls for The Witcher, because to get from the city to the swamp, one had to take a boat, complete with cutscene and chatty boatman.  The cutscene was fun the first time or two, but after four or five times, players were like, "Just take me to the freaking swamp already!"  Wish granted.  Read this scroll and teleport instantly!

I really wish developers would play-test their games more.

  6. I don't tend to do a lot of decorating and thought I wouldn't need this . until I saw the picture of the teeny, tiny guitars and pianos, and my musician sim said, "Yes, please!"

I've always heard that the best gifts are things the person didn't know they wanted until they had them, and then they loved them.  By that standard, this is a wonderful gift.  ;-)

I've been saving the jungle trip till I finish work on the new Cornucopia Mega Cooler mod, with all foods, drinks and shopping options for all jungle gear and objects direct from the cooler, and maybe even a music channel or two attached to it to get those jungle parties in full swing. I do gotta have these home-from-home built-in luxuries in place before taking any trips into the deepest, darkest jungles. :hehehe:

*chuckle*  A lot of people apparently like to torture their sims, but I like to give mine perfect lives, or I thought I did, until I read the Coolspear definition of what perfect really means.  My hat's off to the master! :titter:

  8. Oh, thank you so much!  It was fun watching them be realistic and painstakingly thorough the first couple of times, but after doing it a dozen times, I wanted to scream, "WILL YOU GET ON WITH IT, ALREADY!"  I mean, there's a reason why archaeology isn't usually a spectator sport. :-)

Maybe if I open up your mod and paw through the files, I can figure out how to make a mod to make excavating more streamlined, just for personal use.  Because I'm having a similar reaction to that.
