that's odd. I didn't think it was that dark, even though my Sim lived in the shack near the Military base. what happened to me was: the fog we see in the distance in normal worlds (draw distance thing) started getting closer and enveloping everything around wherever my camera was. I went back and forth with map view but it still did the same, until at some point everything outside of the shack was gray. then I did map view and zoom in again and the walls, floors and outside had some p.

.pitch black parts and other gray or white parts.

rebooting the game was the only way to fix it. then the next day I played it happened again. it had never happened to me with any other neighborhood. people at the official forums say Lucky Palms was supposed to have some new types of weather (extreme heat and heavy fog) or whatever, but that it didn't work quite as planned and this is why that happens sometimes. I'll see if I can find the thread again.
