@FreeasabirdYou need to go offline in Origin. Open Origin, click "Go Offline" on the drop-down "Origin" tab, then open your game. As far as I know, I have to do this each time if I'm connected online. Hope this helps!

I just saw there will be
alleged "story progression"neighborhood stories with the upcoming update. What am I doing wrong to have the game say I cannot open it unless I update (I have manual update turned on)? Do I need to have my internet off? Venting here because I've been updating my lots and households in anticipation of being able to have my worlds the way they were back before EAxis totally frustrated Coolspear and he understandably quit for a while. It's been nice the past month having my All-in-Ones and empty streets, and I've been playing around w/MCCC to have the control I want. FFS, I am so frustrated with this latest news, I may just wait until EAxis decided to move on from this version. Thank you for letting me rant. -
Thanks for the reply. Besides not being helpful, my game kept crashing--glad to know it wasn't just I who had trouble with it. I've had issues with some modders who are really popular but their mods just don't work out for me. Whenever I put in MCC, it seems to mess up my game--random marriages, divorces, too many pregnancies. I guess I really don't want story progression--I want 100 percent control, bwahaha. I did notice another fox in the bin, so I deleted it. Personally, it doesn't bother me if foxes are not hidden as of now, so I won't fuss with it. Thanks again for all you're doing to make the game playable. Again.

I have a save where I deleted all Sims except one household and changed community lots to generic, and this is what I was using. I'd created the two All-in-One households, and had moved the household I'm playing into an existing lot in Henford. I think it had a lot challenge for foxes. I removed all mods but yours at first but then put in Twisted Mexi's Better Exceptions (?) mod after the game crashed, but it flagged so many of yours as "not compatible for the latest update," so I removed it. I can put in MCCC to see if they were just in the wrong bin.

Any idea why this happened? I started a new save (blank save) in Henford and only have your mods plus some cas (skin/skin details, eyes from Luumia, Larularlo, Nolan Sims, *edit* which I thought I'd run through S4S). Didn't notice in game just when I went to households to see if any NPCs had spawned other than my all-in-ones.

Condolences on the passing of your mom. This has been a rough year for so many, our family included as my dad passed away last month. Glad you are back to playing and even modding this insignificant-yet-important game. I've missed your witty commentary, and seeing you had posted something really brightened my day. I join the others who feel proud and happy to be part of this community.

Sorry for your loss, Coolspear. I appreciate your taking time to reply and even think about this frustrating game. May everything go smoothly, and may your family and friends support each other during this difficult time.

For some reason, the parking meter made me laugh.
Also, much of the Sims community is hyped for uni release, but I can hardly wait to see more of these new WSC RoM pictures and am trying to be patient!

I will be going back to StrangerVille now!

I went in to CAS today to fix Nancy's outfit, and Malcolm Landgraab was a Spellcaster. If he can become one, then our sims need equal opportunity, so thank you. I'm really looking forward to seeing your WSC RoM. In the meantime, my sim is happily living in Granite Falls and just gave birth to twins (Father Winters' babies). Thank goodness for your mods because it's annoying to have to see the Landgraabs and the City Living people at "HQ." I didn't realize they were actually becoming spellcasters. Worse than the invasion of StrangerVille. Thank you again.

Thank you for letting us know.

Yes! Thank you! I really want my sims to have dogs AND rodents.

Thank you! I was getting horribly frustrated. I knew there would be annoyances with GF. This was a quick fix, so once again, thank you!

I'm just happy to have a working version and to play the doctor career again. Thank you for making this available to the rest of us.

Excellent! Thank you. I have downloaded your RTAS, so this will be much easier! It will be much better than the MT-ASS (Muxis Trait- Aspiration System Shipped ;-) )

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for to make my game playable! I am a compassionate Watcher but very controlling, and before JA was able to use a reduced random townies mod that worked great. After Seasons, everything was messed up, so I scrapped my game and have pretty much just been building and doing makeovers for the last few months. I literally--and I mean literally--teared up when I saw this set of mods. I had been searching for something, but was under the impression you'd quit modding. I am thankful I checked it out again. There is hope for my beautiful Simnation once again!
Thought I'd let you know I began a whole new game and went in and created my two Allinone households, then sent my sim to the cafe. The sixteen showed up. Went home, saved, and then went to manage worlds. In that short time, the game generated 10 sims! Just from visiting the cafe (and I know the usual mailman and other NPCs) ! I deleted them all, saved, and am now putting in your recommended mods and will change MCC settings.
I would buy you a whole cafe, not just a cup of coffee. You are my number one favorite modder, and your mods, along with other fabulous mods from my three next favorites, will allow me to play once again!
A question for you regarding stupid butlers. Is it possible for me to use the NPC trait cheat to create my own butler? (traits.equip_trait isButler and careers.add_career Butler)
I'd also like to create my own librarian and letter carrier if possible.

Thank you once again.

Thank you. Now my sims can cook ahead for the week.

Thank you for your detailed reply, @coolspear. It's too bad that (in my opinion, for what little that's worth) there wasn't a "retired" trait for the additional GTW careers. A retired doctor, though, can still do some research and maybe some extra-terrestrial exploring using the "has been scientist" trait, I have wondered why in the world the hospital and jail items are "earned" and available to purchase. I know Maxis alluded to locking up a teenager in his/her room, but that just seems weird. Thank you, again, for the amazing redo of the hospital. I started a new game today, and it was a pleasure to go to the hospital with my sim who even had time to have a snack, although she was a bit upset that there was no cottage cheese with pineapple chunks in. ;-) I'm looking forward to going to Sims Lab with her roommate next time.

@coolspear, is there a way to create a "retired/former" doctor or detective the way you did with scientist? Thank you again for all your hard work. Your attention to detail and creativity are incredible.

Thank you! My plant sims can now look lovely and have great hair instead of that leafy whatever. Thanks, heidi, for the tip on alien- or vamp-plant sims.
-
Thank you! There are limits to vampire tricks, I agree. And thanks for adding bowling. You are making my sims lives much happier!
A happy but slow return to modding.

@FreeasabirdI had this happen as well and ended up with those annoying "sentiments." I just manually disconnect my internet before loading up my game these days. I really don't want that story "regression" in my game. EA plays to the generations who think online is mandatory. I think the delivery express is to get people used to online play as is that facial recognition for CAS I just read about. What's old and failed is going to be recycled, I guess. At this point, my kids have quit playing Sims and my hubby is just waiting for Sims 4 to be done to let the modders fix the mess without interference from EAxis.
