  1. On a side note; I remember watching a program on the evolution of computers and coding and how it swung from being a female field (think code breakers) to being male dominated. It was fascinating stuff. Sadly I don't remember where I saw it.

Another strange tangent; I belong to a spinners and weavers guild. One of our members is a retired principle, who taught computer coding. One of the best knitters I have ever known. Knitting is basically 2 stitches you manipulate to make a pattern. Which is the skill set that was sort of with the original code breakers in world war 2.

Anyway, back to sims. I think there are many biases in both men and women on the profession. Until they shift, I don't see the industry changing.

As for sims 4 it took me years and the base game coming out for free for me to even touch it. The game has always felt rushed and broken from the beginning. The intended demographic has definitely shifted to younger players too. Thank crap for mods (as with all the franchise) for filling in the gaps.

I predominantly play, sand box and building. I find a lot of the game play grindy  and repetitive. Again, thank you modders. At the moment the game feels more bloated and broken than ever. I have always imagined the game being more of a production line. They need to produce new content by a certain date and no exceptions, which is why we get garbage quality control. With the added inexperience to talk on that makes it even worse.

    Sorry about the long ramble.

@RedMallie Totally understand the desire to not teach kids. I never related to kids too, unless they were relatives. Early education is a totally different skill set. My niece is an, early and special needs, educator and her patience is amazing. But then she has been talking about becoming a teacher ever since I met her, when she was 3. :fnorky: And it has always been for kindergarten or primary.

Photography is another cause of it. Get one sim to take photos of another sim, it goes into photography UI, when coming back out into live mode it will usually hit, tanking to 12 fps. The game is rotten. And as far as my experience goes, hitting ESC key has always been 100 percent successful at cleaning it up, but only with photography.

And there it is. I love photography in game, but it has always caused lag for me. Now it is mega lag. Just tried it in game and hit the under 12 fps line. The ESC key did work though, so I now have that tool in my kit of fixes.

My current save is still pretty free of problems but I am nervous to go back into some of my older, bigger saves.

Thank you for explaining the situation so clearly Coolspear.

  3. @coolspear From what I understand; the shopping cart roll out is a marketing test. Which is meant to give us more "convenience". I was lucky enough not to get it, the first go round, but apparently they did another roll out last week and I finally got the damn thing. :chair: Went into bug reports and told them if they had a better product they might sell more, or entice back disgruntled players.

The lag on building and CAS is really bad. I have had it sporadically, which is the only reason I am still playing.

Another really weird thing I have been seeing in CAS, is when you pick a trait the sim goes through a series of stuttered poses (they don't even relate to the trait), until you click on something else. Freaked me out the first time I saw it.
