  1. @Twoftmama Oh, dear. Parenthood really gave Plenty' O Presents a bashing. Not only with the Last Exception error you've reported - that glitch is quite tame compared to the other new one - but the function to buy Tablets and Wabbits now causes a fatal error and locks up the game! Neither error related to each other. So thanks for reporting the lesser error, as it made me also discover the fatal error. And thanks Parenthood for giving this mod a double-whammy of glitches.

Because the XMLs I use in this mod are ones I made myself, they can be harder to check against patches. MC Command centre has actually been reporting the Last Exception this last couple of days, but I was certain it was related to a mod I have in testing that I know is not in the best shape currently. But it was Plenty 'O Presents all the while - dang.

Not to worry though, as I have it all fixed now. The fatal Buy Tablets and Wabbits is currently removed from the mod until I can look into what has suddenly caused this major issue. (Maxis messing around with tabs, I'll bet.) The Last Exception was due to the way I had the radius details set up, for how close sims approach the object to begin searching. Parenthood decided not to like my little set up. So that's been amended to something Parenthood prefers and no more Last Exception generating.

    Thanks, TFM

    Update 7th June 2017

Two errors corrected that were introduced with Parenthood GP. Both now fixed so please delete older version and replace, as older version has the potential to lock up your game if you try to purchase Tablets & Wabbits.

  2. This is another interaction that has finally got to me. I usually have a closet at all community venues, for perhaps the off chance of a naughty woohoo. But the way the game sets up sims on a lot when loading, is that they will all be engaged in some activity once the load is finished. And there's always some poor sim that gets forced to go have a long sob in a closet, even if they were the happiest, carefree sim in the universe prior to the load. Even if they have the Carefree Trait that should, rightly, exclude them. And then of course, for the next forty minutes, all you hear is the continuous sobbing when you're supposed to be having a good time listening to the music at the club. (And that good time cannot extend to having a sneaky woohoo in a closet, grrr.) Not as woeful as playing a level of Doom and hearing the continuous babies crying in the background, but the drawn-out sobbing certainly does not insight happy-joy-joy feelings. Had enough of it, I have. And here's the mod to prove it.

This mod also reduces the length of sob time from the maximum of forty minutes to about fifteen minutes.

Closets and sobbing in them are Get Together EP objects and interactions.

  3. Updates July 5th 2017  - (Not patch related. Just a few helpful improvements.)

New Function - All trays can now be carried in a sim's personal inventory. Great for sims bringing the party drinks with them everywhere they go. Or for vampires to carry an instant supply of needed plasma drinks no matter their destination. When visiting world locations that are not on a lot, such as a Go Dancing Party Event at the Windenburg Ruins, the "Live Drag" function is not accessible by Maxis design. Just click "Place In World" while the tray is in inventory, or "Put In Inventory" if tray is on the ground. While tray is on the ground, visiting sims can and will continue to use it. There's even a correct default animation for them to stoop down to pick up a drink.

New Additions - More drinks from Get Together EP - tray of 3 beer types and tray of rootbeer & cream cola floats.

Also a resource fix for the espresso coffees to always display the correct full cup resource.

Happy days and happy trays, folks.

  4. Hi, @JessNicholls93  I'm not familiar yet with all the objects and workings of Parenthood. Only managed to get a couple of hours in game last night since the patch.

So if I understand you correctly, there's a new object in game, which you have attached to the AddStorageAlpha_PersonalStorage mod? Sounds interesting.

As I'd said to MerrySims who'd attached the Wicker Basket to my Fresh Fish Storage Box, just link back to me with credit, for players to download the needed Alpha template.

It's vital that they get the actual template mod from me, here, in case any complications arise with the monthly patching and I have to update, or if I have something new to add or correct about the Alpha mod. If players run into any trouble with the Alpha, or find a flaw with it and need to make a report, it's better they contact directly with me at the source, rather than have to go through third party channels.

And please let me see what you've done and where you host your CC, as I'd be happy to post a link here on the Alpha mod where players can get additional extras for the Alpha, as I've done with the Wicker Basket Fresh Fish Box.

    Thanks.

  5. @ayanabae hello. Regarding your report. When it comes to patch time, especially when new EPs or GPs are involved that have many new interaction elements that could work against existing mods, I have to take all reports of problems seriously before I can play the game and check things out for myself. In this case, I have been testing out my sim in the kitchen cooking all sorts of meals on all appliances, from ovens, fridges, ice cream, popcorn. And I am not seeing any problems whatsoever. The 25 and 99 servings are working as they should, as are all my other mods that govern impeccable food quality and excellent drink quality. From my end of things, it's all as smooth as it should be.

The best suggestion I can offer is to make sure all your mods are up to date and that you are not running any conflicting mods. If you are using any CC mods for new food and drink types, then they're always the ones you need to make sure are up to date. I hope you get it sorted and please let me know if you do. If there's anything you're not sure about, don't hesitate to ask. All the best.

  6. Yeah, as I said in a few posts up, S4S did manage to extract them before glitching. I already have them both. Already incorporated into the mod and made non autonomous. Will be uploading the update shortly with a few other mods. Just needed to take a walk to the shop and get some cold beers. It's a warm night here in London, with the distant hint of a potential storm. Nice to have a beer when watching the lightning - if it decides to break. But even if it don't, it's still nice to have a cooling beer.

    Update 4th June 2017

Mod now updated to include the two new "Loving Hug" XMLs that came with Parenthood GP. No hug goes unbanned here. We want none of it. Now, can somebody please give me a hug. I sorely need one after all this patching and S4S kerfuffle. :((

  7. It's good to know it's not a rare issue on my PC alone. And it would not surprise me if the S4S admin temporarily suspended error reporting, because they already know about this issue and do not want to be swamped by users all reporting same. At least they could post a notice to say that they are aware of it. 3.0.1.8 has been available for download for over 18 hours, with important data for the new pack that we've all been waiting for. They must be aware of the error by now from many users. Where's the helpful notice?

  8. Just a little bit of news about a mod I used to do, until the original creator wanted it back. If anyone uses the No Smash Doll House mod, it is quite broken again with the Parenthood patch adding quite a bit of data to it. It makes me glad it kept updating my own personal version of it. But, as a point of interest, it might be worth playing without the mod for a while as some of the new Parenthood features for it might be worth a look at. Until you get fed up of the smashing and want the mod back.  I've taken mine out just to see what's new, but I'll probably want to put it back in before too long. Perhaps original creator will have his version ready for you by then.

  9. I know exactly what you mean about S3pe and S4pe. I loved modding TS3 with S3pe. I cannot get on with S4pe at all. Not even after plasticbox updated it. If memory serves, especially after plasticbox updated it.

But yeah, Sims 4 Studio now has me locked out of modding the stuff I want to get back on. Sure, I can tinker with the lighter stuff. But the big projects I want to get back to are a no go until S4S can be trusted again. I'm sure it's only temporary though. It just peeves me that I cannot report it, and have to sit a wait in a quiet frustration for maybe one of the golden, chosen few to report same issue.

I think I'll just pop over there and PM OM and see what happens. Better than waiting around.

  10. @mandy1 were you able to extract all game files successfully with Harmony 3.0.1.8?

It installed fine but keeps throwing an error during the file extracting process, so does not get all the files successfully. Many missing XMLs.

I would report the error log, but I don't have access to post reports in that section of the S4S website. Sure, I could chat away all day in the general forum sections. But posting error reports, not allowed.

I've uninstalled and gone back to 3.0.1.7, which extracted the game files without issue. But it has got me thinking something quite scary. Regarding my Career Mods, and my reports that so many XMLs were missing, presuming Maxis deleted them. Now I can't help but think did S4S simply fail to extract them?  Yesterday, I'm making long reports on the Patch News for Careers about Maxis obliterating XMLs, and it could all be rubbish.

Anyway, as luck would have it, 3.0.1.8 did manage to extract both the child and the adult loving hug XMLs before it reached the error and quit. So I will be able to update this mod at least. But as far as updating the Career Mods or continuing on any other mod projects, I think everything is going to have go on hold until I can find a way to report errors on S4S and get proper feedback from its creators.

If S4S is not going to work properly on my PC, then that's my modding days over. Well, that's actually in effect right now, my hands are tied. (I have no desire to change to S4pe.)

  11. Thanks for the tip. I'll be getting latest S4S today.

That's exactly why I usually never begin my post-patch extracting and updating until S4S is confirmed to be aligned with an EP/GP/SP patch. I broke my rule for this patch and it has been a bit hectic trying to find all the new affordances, buffs and stuff. Never again! I don't care if it takes weeks for S4S to be updated after a pack patch. Then that's how long it's going to take/wait for me to do mod updates.

I almost feel like I have to recheck all my recent updates again. Almost. (Actually, one or two of them I think I might have to.)

  12. Hello, folks.

It has just dawned on me that as Maxis have restructured the old system of clothing tags, replacing them with a new XML system that governs the way sims change clothes for work, then this mod may be effected, too. I won't be able to test this until I've finished getting my mods folder in order and can safely start the game. Hopefully by tomorrow (Monday)  my mods folder will be in be the right shape for safe play.

But if anyone can verify in the meantime that kids and teens still change to Formal before going to school. Strictly speaking, this is not one of the Jobs or Uniform tags that Maxis changed, so it may not be effected. But it was a pretty big change Maxis made to the whole uniform generating and changing system.

Actually, with the new system they've incorporated, I may be able to wrangle a new way for teens and kids to wear a uniform that is a proper, stand alone work uniform and not part of any other dress category. Just an idea for now, but that's how big a change this new Maxis system is. Hell, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Maxis beats me to it. This new Parenthood pack would have been apt for them to include school uniforms, especially after the new clothing generating system they've made.

  13. wow, ayanabae, first post, nice, welcome. But do yourself a favour and delete the quote from your post. Not needed at all, it's a bit of an eyesore thread-hog and is against site rules I should imagine. (Enter edit mode, hold down CTRL button and right click on quote box to get option to remove it.)

And for future reference, check the most recent Patch News post at the top of each section to see what mods need updates. I'll be friendly this fine Saturday morning and tell you now that this mod was not changed by the patch. (Though that's not to say Maxis have not released some new Parenthood food XMLs that are now rubbing up the wrong way with these mods.)

Whether or not it is the genuine cause of the errors you are reporting I have yet to play the game to find out. I'm too busy with all this updating to get into the game, and will be for some time yet.

  14. @Twoftmama I was just looking at that old fish decay mod. It's still in the same rar from it's last days on MTS. If I recall correctly, I think I even took it down before I even knew I'd be leaving there. Looking at it today after extracting the Maxis commodity file, there has been no need for an update all the while, and it's all beginning to make sense why I stopped doing it last November. Maxis changed it back then to the exact value I'd been using in the mod. "0.2 Decay Rate," which I think made it last 24 hours between each decay stage. Non mod users on the official forums had long been complaining that fish decay too quickly, I think it was only three hours between decay quality stages when TS4 first shipped, so I made it a sensible 24 hours. And last November, I think Maxis did likewise. They'd changed a lot of their insensible decay factors such as watering and weeding plants, to the exact, more sensible values modders had done, rendering a handful of useful gardening mods redundant. I'm pretty sure that's what they did to fish decay as well. It just struck me as odd that my untouched mod sitting in an old rar all this time is the exact value as Maxis' most recent commodity file, and then came the hazy memories why I may have give up on it back then.

If you can confirm the exact time between decay stages the default rate is currently at, then I'll know for certain if that's why I abandoned it. But it all seems a bit fishy, if you'll pardon the pun. If it is a default 24 hours per quality decay, then that's all my mod ever did originally anyway. I could upload it as is, - (as it always was) - but it's exactly the same as the Maxis value now.
