Thank you very much! Which mod, mod author and version is it? I'm not sure why, but the link to simfileshare sends me to just the generic folder shared by simbiology, instead of directly to the mod download.

For some reason, the night I was downloading most of the mods from simbiology, everything kind of just disappeared from the website and started routing to the link for simfileshare. It was then down, saying that it was being edited for a few days. I can finally access the files again. I have looked at all of the "full collections" for each modder, if there is a file for that, and I do see quite a few of the mods that I was looking for that were posted to forums.

I wish I had explanations/readme files as to what they are, but I have dug deep into some of the sims 2 wikis where dedicated people listed quite a few mods, what they do and where it links to the broken website link, which is when I start my detective work going backwards from the name/description. I have found a few working locations for websites that no longer exist, usually on simsfileshare.

I did have some luck on the wayback machine on a few websites to "resurrect" them and be able to download files from it. I remembered accessing a website for a CC creator that used to make content here for the sims 3 so I thought I would try my luck at some of the old websites. I'm not sure how the sites are saved and for how long, but some downloads tend to be buggy on this. I think this has been put into the "last resort" category.

Many people have re-posted a new link to their old files, as I mentioned before without even saying who the mod author is. That can be a double edge sword for another topic, though.

There are so many that I'm missing that I don't really know where to start. Some of them, you just didn't know how much you loved until you didn't have them, you know?

@carlfatalI do remember all of those wonderful content creators and have seen that they are still out there. I did have some things bookmarked and managed to look through mod the sims several days in a row, following forums and content creators. I know that the game isn't dead! I also know a lot of people still have the mods from the talented retired mod authors sitting in their downloads folders as well as some people have them out there on tumblrs and such. It's just hard to hunt them down. There's only so many hours in a day and once you go down the rabbit hole of looking for sims mods, I feel like I never get out of it!

@ZalethThank you for the offer. I can only describe the mod I am really missing for my family sims. It was a mod that you could use to change a group meal into individual meals after cooking it. It was in the menu option for serve, clean up, put away or make individual meals,  if I remember right. If either of you know of this mod, let me know, other wise, I'll just keep up my search.

That's great! I've just started back up myself and would love to see what you are doing.

A few for me too? Ah the pool parties in sims where everyone comes and nobody leaves. I can't seem to get back into sims for a while now after a tragedy happened with one of my friends from HS.

It's late nesting and I have 3 bird feeders, so she thinks all are for her.

I have, but with all the birds, she can't help herself.

Thanks Firestaar! I'll try not to. My recovery has already been quick, but I am waiting to hear back on my chronic illnesses as of if I have a DX or not. Right now I just have to run our household as best as I can :)

When I first read this, I thought it was a sims moment, then I continued reading. I am trying to imagine a horse in a kitchen, even a large one and can't, despite seeing them all over the city every day. It made me LOL trying to imagine, though!

I have tried to kill a sim by vending machine, but they starved first. I do love the mod, though when I don't want them to die :)

This brings back terrible memories of palmetto bugs (flying cockroaches) that I found in my bed when I lived in Savannah, GA, US. I didn't know I could jump that high.

I wish I could send you my computer fix-it guy. Somehow, I bring my computer to him when it's broken, he checks it and tells me nothing is wrong. I think it's magic.

Call me weird, but I usually play sims for a bit, then watch part of a movie every night with my husband before bed. That way we get to play our games, then spend time together. :)

I wondered what happened to my lost pen, Nirar22. Maybe it slipped into the wormhole that purses become and came out into yours.

It is insane over there, Loralie! Maybe they should call it the psych ward instead of the forums.

It was on mostly Nraas mods and mods in general. Yes Cloudwalker, I was apperently a masochist today. I'll do better tomorrow and stick to Nraas and Sim's asylum.
