Aye, it really is the worst to have it mandatory. I mean for god's sake, if a person is a low key player to begin with, small houses, small families, it is not needed at all. And if a person is the complete opposite, stuffed mansion houses everywhere and overstuffed families, then surely they would want to know if that bloated save file has become corrupted, which you can never know with Memory Boost perma-hiding it. Not fixing it, not preventing it, just fucking hiding it. Bury head in sand and burn out GPU.
Worst logic ever.
Still not seeing any mods to reinstate the option switches. Maybe it's just not doable. If not then I'll never be patching again.
But the big question for you now is, how long, on average, do you spend playing the sims per session? If only two, three hours a day, then that won't be much of a hit on your GPU. But if you can spend ten, twelve hours per session, four, five times a week, then start putting spare cash to one side, you'll be needing a replacement GPU before too long.
