Shouldn't he know the "basics" as a nine year old? Maybe the sims are not a good example though.

You may have too many saves. I always move out old saves to a backup folder whenever it looks like I have too many saves in my Saves folder.

At a guess something invisible is blocking the bottom, one of those routing problems.

It was spiral stairs. I spun them around so there was more room at the bottom and that seems to have fixed the issue. Stupid sims.

For some time spiral stairs got blocked for going down when you put a wall or fence at one side upstairs. That should be fixed for a while though.

I would have taken a nap then a shower,so you could nap all over again (showers relax you)

I have to nap and/or shower while my 2 year old naps, so I only get time for one or the other.

I remember those days now we want another one!
