I'm with you Nyxie! I use too much deco, or too little.

I use too little IMO. I don't like a lot of clutter in real life so my sims houses are usually so bare. Then I'll see pictures of other people's houses and I'm like "damn, that looks so good and realistic". But then I can't replicate it. Bah.

Aww! That's why I have UPS backup. Where I live now I don't have as many power failures, but I did in the last place I lived.

At a guess something invisible is blocking the bottom, one of those routing problems.

It was spiral stairs. I spun them around so there was more room at the bottom and that seems to have fixed the issue. Stupid sims.

For some time spiral stairs got blocked for going down when you put a wall or fence at one side upstairs. That should be fixed for a while though.

Kind of like I recently learned "Beggars' Night" isn't so common either.
