Both eyes black, nose peeking out from bandages swollen & discolored from skin cancer surgery yesterday. If I dared go out, I can hear me saying: "I'm sure he's often tempted, but really officer, my husband does NOT beat me!"

I once got two black eyes by accident. You feel like everyone is looking at you, the poor beaten woman. Hope you recover soon.

Wow, I wish I were really as strong as you all think. Actually I range from fairly strong to a total wuss and you can usually find me around the bottom of that spectrum! But thanks for all the hugs and well wishes. Hugs right back to all of you.
-
Really hope you get better and fast *hugs*
-
Hey, anyone remember me? I've been busy with RL problems and pleasures (in unequal quantities) awhile. Missed you all : )

Hey! I was just thinking about you! Glad to see you back :)
-
Good to see you!
-
Thanks everyone. Good to be back among friends.

Town not too awfully far from us leveled in a fertilizer plant explosion. We thought it was an earthquake. Whole town evacuated. Too early for a casualty count.

I am so sorry to hear this Jennifer people just going about their daily business are hurt or killed it is very sad. Sending good thoughts your way.
-
I'm glad you and yours weren't hurt. I agree, it's been a terrible week.
-
Fertilizer is like a factory of explosives going up.

Skin cancer deep but they got it all. Dr. fussed at me today as he removed stitches, saying “You CAN cover skin spots on your face with makeup, Jennifer, but DON’T!†:(

I am so glad that the doctors got all the cancer! *hugs*
-
Thanks everyone and Nellas I'm glad you seem to be getting yours under control.
-
Ah, Jenn.sounds like the dr. knows you well. Prayers for you and Nellas.
-
Had my one-year post-op checkup today. Dr. says I'm as good as I ever was. Not sure if that's good or bad!!!

Thanks everyone. I have a pretty positive attitude. I wasn't really worried about the tests or the exam.
-
Wish you the very best of health. *hug*

Stay the way you are, and that'll be good enough for us. Jen! *hug*

NYPD instructed that a woman going topless is not a violation of the law and not to arrest her. Wonder if I could get by with that here in North Central Texas?

maybe your goverment my suggest the same law to my goverment. ;-)

I may have skinny dipped a few times; and it's possible I shed my top twice at beaches in Spain; and maybe once I needed a truck to carry my beads at a festival in New Orleans; but that's only rumor and hardly anyone believes it.
-
A couple of years before Ontario passed that law, a women’s volleyball team from the Netherlands (I think) was over for a tournament and decided to relax on one local beaches. They found it quite silly when a lifeguard rushed over to tell them to cover up.
-
Now have 50 followers on Tumblr. And it ONLY took me three months. At this rate, I'll have 53-54 by the end of the year. Maybe close to 100 by the turn of the century! Nah, probably not. : (

I found and followed you Nirar.
-
Send me a link and I'll follow anyone on this site. Mine is just a hodge-podge. Too many scenic pix from my backpacking trips for most women and too much girly stuff for most men! But I get a kick out of it.
-
I would probably like it, but I don't do social media.

Beginning my third day by myself in Austin working with a creep of a client I do not like. If he hits on me again he's toast (metaphorically speaking; he's bigger than me).

Uh, hope that he will stop it and that you will find a right solution for his behaving.

I'm Home! All is right with the world. I think what bugged me most about that guy was that he obviously had no respect for women.
-
Hate that! Sorry you had to deal with that kind of slime.

Top oven quit working. Hubby asked: "How would you know? Did you need to quick dry your pantyhose?" Ha ha ha. I don't wear them that often and any idiot knows you dry them in the microwave :)

Lol! Wait. .salesmen? That's a new one on me.
-
LOL
I seldom use my top oven the other day I thought I would bake some bread. I almost didn't look before i preheated and some things of Akeems were in there. they almost got baked not dried.
-
Salesmen I thought they were dog food. I didn't know you had to bake them first.
-
No matter how hot it gets, please line up and kick my butt if I have my hair cut short again this spring. Don't know what got into me last year (OK, ye of dirty minds, I know THAT got into me).

Lol Nell.
-
Nell, is it polka-dotted?
-
Nell, I could still turn heads with swimsuits I once wore -- but for different reasons now. In my mind I'm sometimes a 16-year-old slut; in body I'm always a 45-year-old mother of two! I do prefer where I'm at now, though :)

Flat tire today; naturally husband's in Dallas. So proud of myself when I managed to get the baby tire loose and on the car. Then I couldn't lift the full-size tire into the SUV. So embarrassing. I need ice cream!

When Wolfie and I were dating she had a flat and called me, and when I got there I saw her problem, she had 2 flats, she had fixed one and the other went down while she was fixing the first. She was not happy but I took the tires to the garage and fixed them. I thought she was helpless and was a bit disappointed. Love a woman that can change a tire. Jennifer those tires are very heavy, Wolf has trouble putting the truck tires in the truck bed, and she is buff lol.
-
If the nice man who lifted the tire into my SUV had come by earlier, I'd have loved for him to change my flat. (I have a lot of endurance, Kivak, but not a lot of strength). But as it was, I changed the tire and only lacked putting it in the truck. I was so close to finishing what I started. I felt as if I faltered yards from the finish line and it aggravated me. But the ice cream made it all better. I ate both pints Cohzaku and never went near the gym. : )
-
You deserved it! Those tires are heavy. I hate getting flats.

Jumped a copperhead a couple of hours into my solo hike this morning. Startled us both, but we parted on friendly terms. Snakes don't frighten me like spiders do.

I can ID all the poisonous and a lot of the non-poisonous snakes in my area (just call me Nature Girl). But ALL spiders are creepy to me (OK, call me Sissy Girl!), though I rarely kill one.
-
Glad you are unbitten and not shaken up. I was chased by a vengeful Cottonmouth while fishing with my dad as a girl at Lake Georgetown. Scared the peas out of me and that fear has stuck with me.
-
Yikes has no idea what a copper head or a cotton mouth is but they sound scary.

After a 4-month hiatus decided to try the Sims again. Slowly reinstalling and I'm up to Pets with everything running smoothly. Cross your fingers for me!

What Kimi said!

Thanks y'all. I've now added Supernatural into the mix and it's still running OK. I'm ecstatic about it.

Breaking in a new pair of hiking boots. Did four-and-a-half miles this morning; will get hubby to do a couple more with me when he gets in from work.

I am jealous of your new hiking boots. Mine are starting to fall apart. :D

Awesome!

1st time in 18 months I've been able to plan awesome outdoor activities. In the next 5 months I'll spend 21 days in the backcountry sleeping in a 2-person tent (unfortunately most of those days I'll be the only person in it!).
-
I'm back -- kind of, anyway -- and I have a feeling I'm going to spend the next month catching up on all I've missed.

glad you back.
-
Yay! Welcome back!! *hug*
-
Thanks all. Good to be back.

Wouldn't you know it? I get the home gel manicure set for Christmas and I've just heard that it increases the odds of my having skin cancer by about a trillion times (plus or minus 2). Guess I'll have to live with broken, unsightly nails.

Only if it has a UV light. Most at home kits come with LED lights, so you're in the clear there.
-
Thanks for that clarification, Nyxie. I should have listened more closely to the story on TV, which didn't specifically mention home kits. Glad I didn't get rid of it (although to be honest it takes more time than I generally want to spend on my nails).
-
Yeah my nails are thin and they break a lot. I've tried a ton of stuff for them but I'm cheap and lazy so.lol

First day of high school for my oldest today. I put a pix of us on Tumblr. I'm trying to smile and hold back my tears and he's like "Oh mom!"

I'm so glad mine's through, as well. FREEDOM!!! woooohhooooo

Next Tuesday will be the first day of school for my little guy, two others just going back to school. I will still cry. All my cousins are going to school this year so I can't watch them either lol.
-
First day for Chay is the 9th, I am going to be so lost. No kids at home guess I will have to sim more if I don't get the job.
-
Got tickets to see one of my favorite classical guitarists in Fort Worth tonight, but I'm still too sick to go. I'd really been looking forward to this. : (

That is so sad, I am sorry.
-
I do hope that you feel better soon. Sorry you have to miss the concert though.
-
Glad for you. Whenever Tommy Emmanuel is in my city, i always going to watch him. he's great.
-
Survived another surgery -- minor this time, but I was a little out of it yesterday. Disregard anything more stupid than normal I may have said.
-
I need for there to be 52 birthdays tomorrow so I can wish them all Happy Birthday and finally get to 500 posts!
-
Volunteered at my daughter's school today. I love the kids, but don't think I would last a month as a teacher!
-
I know that I would not. I love my kids.other people's kids.not so much.
-
I have no patience for teaching, I give props to those who can teach and do. :)
-
Wolfie is a good teacher to our children and those in our family but she tried to tutor anothers child once and she said never again.
She actually could teach but doesn't want to!

It's going to be a long weekend around here if the Texas Longhorns lose again. Hubby's not a fan; he's a fanatic!
-
Back from my spontaneous mini-vacation. Among the highlights was a concert by my favorite classical guitarist and then getting to meet her. Had a great time but good to be home. I missed the kids!
-
Family's on the mend and back at work and school. Now I can work on getting me better. Going to start by sleeping the rest of the day!
-
I've missed you all but will likely be away for at least another couple of weeks. Save your best stuff for then so I don't have to read a month's full of posts. :)
